I have begun my journey once again. I want to become healthier. I exercise regularly but I have to change my eating habits forever. Not a diet--but a new journey to a healthier me!!!

Fitness Minutes: 9,566

My Goals:
To lose a minimum of 63 pounds. I actually started my program on January 7 at 213. I want to lose weight to be as healthy as possible. Actually--I want to look and feel better.


My Program:
After having gotten rid of my bad carb and fat cravings using a few weeks of the South Beach Diet, I have gone into a major lifestyle change in my eating habits. I am on what I call good carb-better carb eating. I am making healthy choices and portion sizes without even doing much thinking about it. It's a great feeling to finally be in control of my eating.
For exercise I do 4+ hours a week of high intensity water aerobics
and 45 minutes a week of balance and flexibility. I am also lifting at least 2X per week but try to get in 3. I have also started to include swimming, spinning and walk/run into my cardio. With the nice weather approaching I plan on adding outside bike ricing and stopping the spin.



Personal Information:
I live in central Illinois on an 80 acre farm, though I grew up in Chicago. My husband of 32 years and I have 2 grown daughters and a wonderful son in law. They live in California. :(
I was a substitute teacher for many years and recently took a full time aide position and really enjoy it.


Other Information:
Hard to believe--but I am a part time water fitness instructor. I am a good motivator for my ladies--they figure if I can do it they can too. I have encouraged alot of overweight people to "take the plunge" into water aerobics. I love my part time job!!!!
