Sharon's Weight Loss Journey

Hello. I am a 42 years old struggling with losing a few pounds. I feel like I've been on a diet for the last 15 years. I've tried everything imaginable (WW, Rice Diet, Atkins) to no avail. I may lose a few pounds, and then I am back to my mindless eating. I struggle with a bad lower back so I am limited to what I can do physically...so for now I am trying to walk at least two miles five days a week. It's hard to find time for me, my hubby and I have six children living at home with us and we ...

Thank you for adding me as a friend! I am honored and feel privileged to be able to add you to my friends as well.

This will not be a quick journey my sparked-friend, but it will be a very rewarding one! You will find many forks in the road and you might falter - but I will be here to pick you up and help you back on track!

Hugs,

P.S. We all falter! The trick is to get back on track as soon as possible! The longer it takes you to get back on track, the harder to re-lose the weight. You really CAN do this!

Coming here may be the best thing you ever did. If you stay active in the groups, make sure to log all your food and pay attention to the things you can learn from the daily feedback, and make sure to drink your water, you should do well. There is an emmense amount of information on the site. The most remarkable thing is the amout of support you can get from people, like me. If i can help with anything, let me know. You can visit my page and read my only blog there to get to know me. I've dieting for literally 50 years, and this is the best thing I've found yet. I'm new here, but have lost 4 pounds so far.

Good luck!

Here's the video for the Nutrition Tracker - the best tool online!

I was 54 when I joined SparkPeople and 56 when I came back and started my Spark Program, starting with Stage One. This is a one day at a time program, but if you do the SparkPeople Program Steps, it really does work. I am terribly average, it's the SP program that is extraordinary.

I found logging my foods in the Nutrition Tracker helped me to lose 90 lbs in 16 months! I started at 210 and went to 120.

I hung clothing that was too small on my closet door and every time I would get discouraged I would try them on. Week by week they started fitting! That kept me motivated.

Welcome aboard, we really are all in the same boat! Sometimes we can sail right along but sometimes we have to be rowing like crazy!

You can make it happen! SparkPeople really does work!

Linda
