I've always been stubborn and stuck to my plans until something else came along. I'm 23. 2011 is my year to kick it into gear.
230 - highest weight
210: Achieved in 2010, restarted 1/2/2011
205: 1/16/2011 Weigh-In
200: 2/5/2011 Weigh-In
195(NOT OBESE at 197): 3/13/2011 Weigh-In
190: 3/20 Weigh-in
This year (2010) I started out aiming for great weight loss. I was stubborn, and pushed too hard. I went from no activity, to 20 minutes a day on the Wii Fit, to walking a lot until I was working out 2+ hours a day. Then, I decided, in February, to walk the Cedars Frostbite Half Marathon. I succeeded, with a time of 3:59:59. My goal was under 4 hours, but I was so exhausted, in my training not having gone more than 4 miles at a time, that I was wiped. But I saw the clock and really pushed to get there, since I suddenly knew I could.
And then I spent the next few days doing lots of yoga to calm my muscles that were abused by the unprepared half marathon. And discovered that as my muscles improved, my foot got worse - I had a stress fracture. Not the way to keep up weight loss. While staying off my foot and generally ceasing to exercise, I found out I was pregnant. All of a sudden, I had to raise my calorie level to what I could determine was healthy - you don't want to undereat, although you don't want to overeat either. Because of the calories and the sudden drop off in exercise... I gained most of my weight back. I went from 235 at the beginning, to 202, and back up to 220!
Life took its toll, and God decided it wasn't my time to have my baby. ( in April 2010) So I wound up with some pregnancy weight, but no baby. (This being said, I have always had a relatively flat stomach, with all my weight in my thighs - the weight distribution has completely changed since the pregnancy, as the weight I gained then went to my stomach.)
I was simply watching what I was eating, sort of, and not getting tons of activity - I kept trying to do something and aggravating an old injury, or something. I have decided to stop letting it win. It's time for me to reclaim my body, and be healthier so I can have a healthy pregnancy later, and so I can stop having low self esteem about my weight.
Valentine's 2011 - Be overweight, not obese (195-197 lbs depending on where I look)
Bicycle - Metric Century in May (depends on weather for training though)
Absolutely want to do a metric century before the end of the year, maybe more.
August 8, 2011 - Be at goal (160ish, depending on muscle mass; evaluate at 170)
2011 New Start (Jan 1)
First 28 Days: 28 day bootcamp
After that, Biggest Loser Wii
Walking daily 1.5+ miles, weather permitting; getting into bike riding seriously as the weather warms up.

Thanks for the blog comment, your words are helpful. Congrats on your weight loss success, and I would not quit jogging if I were you. When I restarted my jogging I experienced the same cough. I only ran 1 mile and afterwards needed about 35 mins to calm myself down. My chest felt like it was on fire. The symptoms has since went away and I don't experience them anymore after jogging.

I appreciate your directness on my blog. People can be afraid to do so and it is funny that you brought that specific topic up because my mother and I were talking about that just last night. She is 5'7" and is in extremely good shape and she weighs 175 lbs. That is clinically overweight and it really bothers her a lot considering she is clearly nothing of the sort. My original goal was 173 because that was considered the high end of normal for my height but I am starting to think it is not realistic. I agree with you that I am more concerned with my health and fitness than a number and we all know how flawed the BMI scale is. In fact this was the topic of my next blog. Thanks for the encouragement. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for your comment on my blog. Yeah, I drink a ton of water during my walks and runs and then coconut water to replenish my electrolytes. Its such a dry climate that even in the winter you easily dehydrate.
My schedule is dictated by my daughter. I can't really wake up earlier because I need someone to watch her while I run because I don't have a jogging stroller. My parents still work so they only time I have to run is when they get home from work. My dad also says that once we're into the summertime, it never really cools down out here. Not even at night.
