It's time to take care of me, starting with my health and weight.

I accept responsibility for being an emotional eater. Now that I have acknowledge that out loud, I need to find the reason and deal with it and change my habits in order to improve my physical health, mental health and spiritual health.

Update: 9/23/08 taken off of high blood presure medication. I've taken it for 15 years!

10/12/08 Gall stones, painful! Gall Bladder removed

12/18/08 Complete hysterectomy (uterine cancer)

2/09/09 Was told the surgery was successful, no signs of cancer!

8/06/09 Gaining weight - need comfort food.

01/04/10 Weight back up to 166.5

My Goals:
* Stay focused on my main goal to be healthier.

* Run 5K (3.1miles) May 2010 for my 58th birthday.

*Walk 1/2 marathon during the summer or early fall.

*Hike Mt St Helens in September-30th anniversary of the eruption

*Jump rope 5 min 3 x a week in the morning, I'm not a morning person, this will be difficult!


My Program:
I will continue to make better choices. Eat healthier, practice portion control and some form of exercise 3 times a week.



Personal Information:
I live in WA (foothills of the Cascades, about 40 miles south of Mt St Helens) Married, I have 3 sons and 1 daughter (grown adults) and 7 grandkids scattered around the states, Ohio, Texas and Washington. Two step-daughters, both in Oregon Two dogs, Roxy/Shih Tzu and Lily/Yellow Lab. They keep me busy.


Other Information:
I enjoy reading Danielle Steel. Typical chick flick in print. Don't always find the time to read. Same with my flute. It's been my emotional release and self expression since I was 9 (1961).

Enjoy camping and hanging out with family and friends.

There is a saying that seems to always fit my life "You don't always get what you want, but you may find you get what you need".

    I'm back. I was so excited to see that you stopped by to say hello. My weight is back where it was. I did it before I can do it again. I took my granddaughter spring turkey hunting last spring. We didn't get a turkey but had a great get to know each other time!

    Barbara nice to meet you, I added you as a friend. Welcome to Hood to coast team. You can't be all bad if you know Kim my running buddy. In fact we ran 9.25 this morning. she told me a little about you. You have done awesome and this is afun group. Our next meeting will be the first Saturday in February - I think we are meeting at the Quay and either walk/run on the waterfront and then have a HTC meeting afterwards - details will follow.
