get down to a healthy maintainable weight and maintain it. by my 60th birthday, in October 2011.
wear my wedding dress for my 25th wedding anniversary.
achieved 27 December 2011 (see pics).
in order of priority: finish La Parienne 6k in September 2011, run the whole 6 km, not finish last in my age group.
did all 3.
less than a 14 min-mile: nov 13 2011
less than a 13 min-mile: jan 9 2012
less than a 12 min-mile: apr 6 2012.
run & finish the Royal Park Half Marathon in London, Oct 7, 2012. 2:40:57 (12:06 average pace)
Proudest of: kept exercising after running injury this summer, went back to running (Galloway, this time) and still love it. Galloway might even have more endorphins, and i need to learn to accept that being the most macho (i can run without stopping to walk) is not always best for me -- plus i think i'll be faster with it!
be able to do a half in 2.5 h and therefore be able to do the Firenze Vivicitta half.
run faster: Is a 10-min mile possible for me? stay tuned.
maintain weight (around 49-52 kg)
continue ST and lose a couple of inches from my waist (2 to 4)
find at least one other fun form of cardio that fits into my life and is not too dangerous for a klutz (that is, i'm not going to try rollerblading again).
to find some family exercise we like to do together (and that we can do more often than what we all adore: visiting Italy).
work out enough to feel the endodorphins.
work at destressing my work (free-lance translating/editing): learn to say NO.
tracking my food most days, continuing to eat most of the things I like and drink wine ... but in reasonable quantities. fortunately I adore vegetables and a lot more fruit than I knew.
run 3 days a week. for now, videos with ST and cardio for crosstraining days, though i would like to go back to aquagym if i can find the time.
yoga: beginner's class once a week with DD, seniors class once a week (free!), and runners' yoga when offered.
do strength training videos on SP. am up to 4-kg weights. also using a stability ball, which i love.

Hello! And thanks for stopping by. It's been ages. Actually, it was our winter here in NY that has been misplaced. We have had quite a streak of almost 70 degree days that I was just plain getting used to. It's the cold snap that we have had the last few days reminding me of what winter is really about, that I have had a bit of trouble dealing with. And it's still not the blizzards of my childhood. The most we have had is one day a few days ago that was, I believe, a bit of a snow flurry. It's questionable, because it was so incredibly scant, and lasted only a millisecond or two.
Hope things are warmer in your neck of the woods.

I started out the year running a marathon on New Year's Day, hence the minutes I logged. Actually, I've logged a lot more, since they limit the number you can get credit for each day. One of my slowest marathons, but I finished it with no foot pain or foot cramping. A victory!

well done on day 1! have you by any chance seen my blogs on the beck solution? a book i read back in november. a couple of other people have blogged it too (watermellen, slenderella, onekidsmom off the top of my head). you might want to add the reading while getting back on track.
financial is a whole kettle of worms starting in february. we managed to get in the miles this past week, but we didn't run because i've been too exhausted to get work done during the day afterwards. we have a lineup of medical too, but i put off a 35k AR until a couple of days ago - and today is the final push. gah! good luck on day 2!
