Striving For My Best Self

I'm a 34 year old mom of 2 young boys. I first joined Spark People to take off baby weight. Now I am trying to become truly fit through consistent exercise and good nutrition. I want to be a role model for my boys, so they can make healthy choices and become the best they can be. Hey, wearing (and looking fit and firm) in a bikini wouldn't hurt either.

My Goals:
Lose overall body fat, increase strength and cardio endurance.

Compete in olympic distance triathlon.

Show my boys what strong women can look like.

My Program:
Eating 5-6 meals a day, mostly fruits, veggies, complex carbs, and lean protein. Do cardio 3-5 days a week and strength train 2 days a week using Body Pump program at Y.

Personal Information:
Like reading nutritional books. I read Fit For Life in the 90's, Body for Life in 2000, South Beach Diet 2003, the YOU series in 2007, the Eat Clean Diet and now Jillian Michael's Master Your Metabolism.

That sounds like my bike. A hybrid. I just got it this year (never been a big biker since I was a kid - loved it then) but now that I have a nice bike, I really enjoy it!! Go figure.

50 miles!? Wow! That sounds really fabulous. I'd love to do it...probably will sometime, but I'm still a bit nervous about riding on the main roads. I mean, I DO it, but I avoid certain roads that look intimidating. Maybe after my marathon I can switch up my "long run" days to get more into biking. That would be a fun switch!

And thank you so much for your kind words. I was pretty happy with my PR. Haven't done any races yet this year though. I so wannt to get on that!

Thanks so much for your kind words on my blog! I'm SO enjoying running and am getting really excited for the marathon in October. For the first time, I'm not thinking that 26.2 miles is too long...AMAZING! emoticon

Do you ride a bike? I saw "long ride" on your fitness tracker.
