Healthy Me!!!

In the past I was yo-yo active person - active then not active. I love playing soccer and in 2005 I began participating in long distance races (a/k/a marathons). My metabolism has definitely slowed down as a result of being an Attorney and working behind a computer. It is time to kick it back up!!!

I am doing it by eliminating a lot of "bad" foods such as diet soda, artificial sweetener (except stevia), and limiting my intake of fattening foods (french fries)! My goal is not a 3 or 6 month fix, but rather something I can stick with forever.

My goal in 2011 is to drop extra pounds (down to my goal weight), gain a six pack and run like a gazelle or Kenyan, whichever is faster!!! I'm motivated and having trained and ran two half marathons already this year (Disney and Tallahassee), I am ready to roll!

I'm using this site primarily to track my fitness, but if I get other benefits (like nutrition and keeping track of my water) then that's good too.

Good morning! Wow thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful comments about my IT band woes. I really appreciate it! I am definitely going to try the stretches that you described as well as looked into the Mattss stretching. Hopefully I can find someone local. :) What are your thoughts on using the foam roller? So when you had IT band issues, the pain was on the outside of the knee? Thank you again!

I appreciated the outreach and comment on my page. I've been on the spark site just over a week and haven't found all the little buttons, gizmos and tricks yet.

I hear ya about the exercising. I've been exercising like a fool and sweating more than I thought humanly possible. What's funny is that I think my gains (or losses) are actually more attributed to tracking my food rather than the physical workouts.
