My Goals:
This is my Year - I want to be healthier and more fit by my 46th birthday. I've wasted enough time with the yo-yo dieting, losing 10 and gaining back 15. Enough is enough. I owe it to myself, I'm worth it!
Footnote: I had a major setback when my mother was diagnosed and subsequently passed away this year, gained 10 pounds on top of already being overweight. No excuses, though, I've got to work through the emotions and get myself healthy, I owe that to my children as well as myself.
My Program:
I'm following my own version of South Beach, a plan that helped me lose 25 pounds before. I am determined to move my body every day, eat slowly and mindfully, avoid the empty calories & "white stuff" whenever possible, instead focusing on whole grains, vegetables and lean protein. I am a veggie lover so I have no problem with that aspect, just need to watch my portions and stick to the program!
Other Information:
I love to read, cook, garden, watch old movies, listen to a various array of music and go sailing whenever the weather allows which is pretty often here in Florida. I am also am avid fan of live music and on weekends can usually be found in one dive bar or another, sipping Chardonnay with my sweetie and enjoying a local band.
