I asked myself what I believed. I had never prayed a lot. I hoped hard, I wished hard, but I didn't pray. I had developed a certain distrust of organized religion growing up, but I felt I had the capacity to be a spiritual person, and to hold some fervent beliefs. Quite simply, I believed I had a responsiblity to be a good person, and that meant fair, honest, hardworking, and honorable. If I did that, if I was good to my family, true to my friends, if I gave back to my community or to some cause, if I wasn't a liar, a cheat, or a thief, then I believed that should be enough. At the end of the day, if there was indeed some Body or presence standing there to judge me, I hoped I would be judged on whether I had lived a true life, not on whther I believed in a certain book, or whether I'd been baptized. If there was indeed a God at the end of my days, I hoped he didn't say, "But you were never a Christian, so you're going the other way from heaven." If so, I was going to reply, "You know what? You're right. Fine."

My Goals:
I would ultimately like to join the Men's Health Belly Off Club. Not getting winded going up the stairs to bed would be a nice bonus. Also, cardiovascular disease scares the crap out of me.

My Program:
I am trying to lose weight. Actually, I was watching a comedian on Comedy Central that said the only reason people go to the gym or work out, is to look good naked. I kinda agree.

I don't have any experience with the snow but the beach sand is not so bad because you can run partly in the water but if you try and walk on the cement barefoot and a clear 95+ day, your feet will turn to giant blisters. I imagine the feeling of walking on 100+ cement and snow feels about the same when it hits the brain.

thought I'd throw in my 2 cents . . . I saw you commented on Sworthmyth's page about living in milton and pace (or something similar to that effect)

I think I know where Jubilees was. We have a big restaurant called The Crab House there now. I know what you mean about eating there. I love the feeling of wearing shorts and flip flops and eating seafood on a summer night with a sunburn. There is nothing like it. Ha Ha. Or frying up fish we caught that day with shrimp and hush puppies.

You need to come visit again. 13 years is way too long. Fishing is about to get really good here.
