Since this is a new year, I thought it would be a good time to update my page! Welcome! I love this page! It's a place that gives me the opportunity to meet Sparkers who, like me, are changing their lives one day at a time. A place for me to receive the motivation and encouragement I need to keep going on my journey. A place that encourages me to motivate others to reach their goals. I hope this page is as inspirational to you as it is to me! Please come back often to visit!

A little info about me....my name is Laura. I am 60 years young, a wife, mother and grandmother. My hobbies are gardening, jewelry making and crocheting. I love nature and enjoy spending as much time as possible outdoors. I love animals and am "mom" to a 2 yr old Peke-a-Pap and a 2 year old Bengal/Tabby cat.

The following poem about success is a favorite of mine so I thought I would share it.

Success is not a race, be patient.
Success leads to success.
Success is always a work in progress.
Success doesn't come to you--you go to it.
Success is a journey, not a destination. Focus on the process.
Some people dream about success... while others wake up and work hard at it.
Success is achieved and maintained by those who try-and keep trying.
Everyday is a good day to SUCCEED!
If at first you don't succeed-try, try again

My Goals:
1) 4-8 glasses of water.
2) 3 healthy meals
3) Stay within my daily WW points.
4) Take all prescribed meds/supplements.
5) Track all foods
6) Track fitness
7) Walk at least 10,000 steps each day.
8) Use spark tools to my
advantage and
connect with teams
and members.

My Program:
Keep a daily diary. Be honest and accountable for each day's events. Track everything I eat and watch my portion sizes. Concentrate on eating more veggies and fruits and drink more water. Set small, realistic goals then work to achieve and build on them. Always remember that "My life tomorrow will be the result of my attitudes and the choices I make today."

Personal Information:
In Oct 2011 my husband retired after putting in 30 years as a firefighter/EMT. We decided we needed a change so we sold our house on the Massachusetts seacoast and bought one in a small rural town in the Berkshires. We love it here. Life moves slower and we are surrounded by beautiful scenery and lots of wildlife.

Other Information:
"Our lives improve only when we take chances... and the first and most difficult risk we can take is to be honest with ourselves." ~ Walter Anderson

I laugh to remember that life is for having fun.
I read to remember that education is good in the long run.
I smile to remember that some one may be falling in love with me.
I dance to remember that a free spirit is the best way to be free.
    emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
I work to remember that sometimes it's not going to be easy and that's a good thing.
I talk to remember that everyone should have a distinct personality.
I love because that's the way I think that I should be.
I think because that's how I get to that place that is for me.
    emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
I give advice because I want to make the world a better place.
And I listen because it helps people feel like the world is safe.
So laugh, read, smile and dance to see where life will take you.
Work, talk, love and think to do the best that you can do.
Give advice and listen just to help everybody else.
But never put anyone else before yourself.

It's not the presents that make Christmas so special
It's the presence of those you love,
whether they are with you in person or spirit!

This day is a day of reflection, a reflection of Christmas pasts!
We all have things we remember, and the memories it brings.
Making snowmen, and angels in the snow.
Singing Christmas carols, watching a TV Christmas show
    Shopping for Mom and Dad,
trying to find them that special something
They will love and cherish for years to come.
Wrapping their gifts with the prettiest paper,
the biggest bows and ribbons just for them.
Opening of gifts with smiles & laughter
Knowing you were the luckiest person alive.
The getting together of relatives, and friends.
Sitting together, sharing the best Christmas meal.
And filling the house with noise, laughter, and love.
Having the best day we ever had.

The best gifts can't often be packed inside a box ..
how can you wrap shared laughter and tears or talks that run into hours?
They can only be wrapped & treasured in my heart.
