Since this is a new year, I thought it would be a good time to update my page! Welcome! I love this page! It's a place that gives me the opportunity to meet Sparkers who, like me, are changing their lives one day at a time. A place for me to receive the motivation and encouragement I need to keep going on my journey. A place that encourages me to motivate others to reach their goals. I hope this page is as inspirational to you as it is to me! Please come back often to visit!

A little info about me....my name is Laura. I am 60 years young, a wife, mother and grandmother. My hobbies are gardening, jewelry making and crocheting. I love nature and enjoy spending as much time as possible outdoors. I love animals and am "mom" to a 2 yr old Peke-a-Pap and a 2 year old Bengal/Tabby cat.

The following poem about success is a favorite of mine so I thought I would share it.

Success is not a race, be patient.
Success leads to success.
Success is always a work in progress.
Success doesn't come to you--you go to it.
Success is a journey, not a destination. Focus on the process.
Some people dream about success... while others wake up and work hard at it.
Success is achieved and maintained by those who try-and keep trying.
Everyday is a good day to SUCCEED!
If at first you don't succeed-try, try again

My Goals:
1) 4-8 glasses of water.
2) 3 healthy meals
3) Stay within my daily WW points.
4) Take all prescribed meds/supplements.
5) Track all foods
6) Track fitness
7) Walk at least 10,000 steps each day.
8) Use spark tools to my
advantage and
connect with teams
and members.

My Program:
Keep a daily diary. Be honest and accountable for each day's events. Track everything I eat and watch my portion sizes. Concentrate on eating more veggies and fruits and drink more water. Set small, realistic goals then work to achieve and build on them. Always remember that "My life tomorrow will be the result of my attitudes and the choices I make today."

Personal Information:
In Oct 2011 my husband retired after putting in 30 years as a firefighter/EMT. We decided we needed a change so we sold our house on the Massachusetts seacoast and bought one in a small rural town in the Berkshires. We love it here. Life moves slower and we are surrounded by beautiful scenery and lots of wildlife.

Other Information:
"Our lives improve only when we take chances... and the first and most difficult risk we can take is to be honest with ourselves." ~ Walter Anderson

A rattle of bones!  Who could it be?
It is a Skeleton, Looking to see
If that cauldron of candy we left in the hall
Might make a good feast at the Skeleton Ball.
A rattle of bones! Quick, look and see!
Oh no!  The Skeleton’s stolen our candy!
    Follow the footprints...uncover the clues,
Find out where the Skeleton, and his crazy crew
Have taken our cauldron of candied delight.
We must save our feast on this Halloween night.

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon September emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

September brings fall, with the leaves falling, changing to colors of red,
orange, gold, yellow, and brown. It brings cooler temperatures, shorter days,
as we start to wear long-sleeved shirts, bring out the sweatshirts we've had
packed away for months, and the jackets we wished we did not have to wear
for awhile. We smell fall in the air, as we the pick the vegetables from
the gardens, & the plants we bring in before the frost.
We see flocks of geese traveling to warmer weather, and enjoy watching
the children playing in the leaves, as they laugh, smile, & have fun.

Most of us try to avoid hills, but what's so good about flat?
Think about it..flat tires, flat hair, flat returns, and -the ultimate-flat-lining.
Life happens on the hills. They're opportunities to prove to yourself that
you're stronger than you ever imagined. If you never attempt the ascent,
you will never know the the thrill of swooshing down the other side.
