Never too late to get healthy

My children tell me that 60 is the new 40! Well, whether it's true or not, I'm trying not to let stress rule my life. I'm not losing weight as quickly as I would like, but I am slowly improving my eating habits as well as my exercise. Consistency is my new word.

My Goals:
Get into better shape for the rest of my life! Eat healthier.
Keep moving.
Be positive.

My Program:
I enjoy walking a lot outside, but I do enjoy going to the fitness center to bike or use the elliptical machine, too. I lost my exercise buddy to grad school, but we try to keep each other motivated through texts.

Personal Information:
I have 2 girls and 2 boys, all officially adults now. I miss the noise of everyone being at home, now that it's just the two of us now. We live in the suburbs but also have a 53 acre farm about an hour from here. That's where I do most of my cooking, gardening and walking.

Other Information:
I love to read mysteries, knit, garden and travel. With two other women I started a group at our school that makes blankets from donated knitted and crocheted squares. Then we donate the blankets to a local charity. I am proud of this effort, as includes adults and students.

Read your post on the Stress Busters Challenge. I retired as the Assist. Registrar at a community college in 2011 after 25 years. I, too, feel for all working in education. I sleep so much better now and my blood pressure is lower as well. My husband says I am a different person. I still have lunch with a few of my co-workers and I always try to send them a quick email during the busy times to let them know I am thinking of them! Loved the students and the school, but glad to be retired! emoticon

Ew... you're right - the Level 13 Trophy isn't very inspiring either. I guess that will be my next goal - to move on to Level 14 as quickly as possible! :-)
