Startin' Over

Ok, so I'm back after almost a year. Starting over and feeling hopeful!

Some words to live by:

"Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny."

My Program:
I am adhering to the recommendations of SparkPeople limiting my intake of nutrients to balance them out to the recommended specifications of the site. It appears to follow the Mediteranean Diet that so many doctors recommend. It appears to be working because I am finally losing weight. I'm also using more fruits and vegies for carbs instead of starches, but I have not stopped eating those, just less frequently and in smaller portions.

Other Information:
I love to read mysteries, especially James Patterson novels, and I love to cook, but hate to clean up afterwards! :0) Mostly, I love cooking and baking with my 13 year old son. He's the best person I know and I hope I am creating memories that will last him a lifetime.

Thanks for stopping by my blog on bilateral knee surgery, my friends are doing well. The one that had both knees done went into rehab one day following the one who had one knee done, and also went home one day later then the one who had one knee done. Both are going to physical therapy twice weekly, and have exercises to do any home. One just started driving, the other who had two done, not yet. All is going well with both and both are glad they had it done.

Hugs
Linda

Hi Lizz. I responded to Sue about her comment. The reason I set it at 20 pounds is because I've been sooooo big in the past. I'll never let it get to 20 pounds before I start seeing a red flag. 200-220 is set but my eye is really on 210...if I see 210 then I'll get to work. I'm leaving the high at 220 just in case some MAJOR stress occurs. That would be the only way it would ever approach that number anyway. But I'm watching it real close. I said this to Sue as well so we're all on the same page.
