I am a single mom of a 9 yr old. I have my Elementary Education degree and working towards a Masters in Teacher Leadership and English Second Language. Even though I have a degree, I am still seeking a teaching position. I am a substitute teacher and work another part time job as a caregiver for seniors. It is hard for me to find time to focus on ME. I used to work at a gym, so I have the knowledge I need and I love working out.. but everything else always takes priority. I realize now that I need to be healthy and part of this involves taking time for myself. I was always petite throughout my childhood and teenage years. I never thought I was skinny enough and was very self-conscious. Now I look back and wish I was that size again. I try to hide my weight and it affects every part of my life. So in order to move forward on this journey I need to admit to it... I want to go from the current 218 to .. 115 my goal weight. I plan to get into those old jeans that I refuse to get rid of. And I do have a pair of every size jeans imaginable from 20 to 5. I'd like to wear the 7 or 9s, and I 'd be happy. Turning 30 made me feel like I was having a midlife crisis... and my boyfriend is 21.. so I need to be healthy haha. I love working out and Zumba, I just need to be more consistent and eat healthier. I need to plan a time for working out and stop eating fast food. I don't eat a lot, just the high calorie bad foods and too many cokes. I am definitely an emotional eater, my weight has fluctuated with pregnancy, break ups, the loss of loved ones including a past boyfriend I was in relationship with at the time and many of life's unplanned stressful occasions that have been thrown at me. I lost 37 lbs but then over the past year gained back 26 of those. Wish the best of luck to everyone out there with their journey also and may we all lose together :) this time my loss will be forever.

My Goals:
To lose 103 lbs in 1 year. To go from 218 to 115 lbs. To become a Zumba instructor and be healthy for my son. Eventually I want to run a 5k.


My Program:
1200 Calories a Day, counting fat grams and carbs. Eating lots of protein. Plan to cut out fast food and cokes. To do this I plan to gradually cut it out or limit it. Do cardio and weight training 6 days per wk. Zumba Zumba Zumba!! To work towards my goal to run a 5k I plan to alternate between walking and running on treadmill until I work up to just running.
