Hey everyone! I am here because I want to get in shape and stay in shape and I know that this is the place to be for it to happen. Last year, Sparkpeople helped me lose 25+ pounds, but since I went back to school, I gained it all back.

Although I have never been terribly unhealthy and only slightly overweight, convenience while I'm in school is leading me to eat unhealthy snacks and take-out too often. Because of this, I want to start eating better, and experimenting with new meal ingredients and snacks to take with me to school.

I also want to get into the habit of working out in the early morning. I used to work out early, but my living arrangements for a while didn’t permit it, and that is where my motivation trailed off last year. Now I want to get back into the habit. I am finding it difficult to get up before the sun comes up, but at least when spring comes around, the sun will be a pleasant addition to my work out!

My Goals:
Short term:

Lose a bit of weight
Feel more confident about myself
Learn new recipes, especially vegetarian and vegan recipes.
Take the stairs instead of the escalator at school.
Run a 10k in early spring.
Walk/run a 1/2 marathon in March (with www.teamintraining.ca)


Long term:

Ultimately, I would like to eat a healthier, vegan diet and lead a more active lifestyle.


My Program:
- I will be doing at least 10 minutes of exercise a day (I will try to walk my dog!)
- I will slowly work up to fully working out 5 days a week.
- I will no longer drink soft drinks; my biggest junk weakness.
- I carry my reusable water bottle with me everywhere.

    Yeah it has been quite while i fell off the track as well this past year, it's hard to lose weight and easy to gain it figure that out. But i haven't given up, i'm back on track somewhat again thanks to my new job as stock girl, i'm unloading truck with 80lbs or more and then putting them on carts and putting the stuff away i have lose 2lbs since i satrted this job, it's hard work and well it keeps me moving plus on days i don't i go down to the school track to walk as much as i can to keep me going. so don't give up we can do this together, little things make a big difference. hope to talk to you soon, and if you feel like your gonna fall again or need help getting thru this i am here. No one should be alone in this fight.

    We sent out an email to staff inviting them to participate in "Be Fit While You Sit." Our committee frequently does different things - walking, "lunch & learn" sessions on different topics, etc. - so our staff are used to getting emails about various activities we come up with.
