Well, I am back. After a couple years of gaining weight, I am coming back to something that works for me. I am looking to make some positive health changes in my life, the first one being a more active lifestyle. With graduate work, work, and family, it is tough to get it all in. However, it is too important not to. Looking forward to the little successes along the way.

My Goals:
Big Goals:
1. March 15, 2015: Weigh 190lbs or less.
2. Be ready to do a 15 mile hike by September 15, 2014.
3. Do an overnight hike in the Grand Canyon by 2015.

Intermediate Goals:
1. Weigh 220 by July 1, 2014 -check!
2. Join a hiking club this summer.
3. Geocache at least once a month.

Small Goals:
1. Work out s at least 3x per week.
2. Track nutrition everyday.
3. Drink 8 glasses of water a day.
4. Make myself and someone else smile at least once per day.

My Program:
I am trying to eat healthier and stay within my ranges for calories and fat. Also, I am infusing activity into my sedentary lifestyle.

Personal Information:
I am an elementary school educator from New Jersey. I have a wonderful wife and two beautiful little girls (14 and 8).

Other Information:
My favorite books include all of the Harry Potter series, MacBeth, and anything by Kurt Vonnegut. My favorite movies include the 6 Star Wars movies and Shakespeare in Love (Weird mix, I know).

I enjoy geocaching as a hobby and try to get out on the trail when I have time.

Thanks for the comment on my six month music video. It's been three months since I made that, and I am now nine months into my journey! My current profile photo is me holding my son. He represents how much weight I've lost to date!

Thanks for the comment on my recent return Blog! I am counting on you checking in once a week and telling me to get off my but- and move! and encourage me to go on! Hope you are well- you mentioned health issues- I hope it is not anything serious!! Take care of yourself! exercise and good eating is great for anything!!
Halloween candy leads to thanksgiving- which leads to christmas cookies and gatherings....leads to snowdays in January with lots of comfort food...I have to break the cycle now!!
