One small step at a time!

Hi everyone! My name is Stacey. I discovered Spark in Jan 2013. At this point I am more ready, willing, and able to get healthy than ever before! I am a 38 yr old wife & mother of 3 busy boys (ages 9, 7 & 4). I am also a cardiac nurse. I was always "skinny" but that changed after marriage & three 40 lb pregnancies. I have tried to lose weight many times in the past decade but never "stuck" with it. I have definitely put the needs of my family before mine but am ready to put myself first this ...

That will be a challenge which is why I love how Spark helps you make small lifestyle changes by focusing on short term goals. I am truly optimistic & the hope I feel brings tears to my eyes. I am tired of being unhappy with my body! Thank you!

Hello, emoticon

Today was a whirlwind and I am still at almost midnight trying to get it all sorted out.

My superintendent and very dear friend has decided to take a job at a different school next year. She selected a group of about 8 or ten of the staff here to go with her on a sort of goodbye celebration to Colorado Springs. I was on the list! So, this morning I knew NOTHING about a trip, and 5 minutes later I am leaving for Colorado Springs in less than 24 hours!! we leave at 7:00 a.m.!!!!!

Between all of this,an already late start, grocery shopping and the evening walk, promises fell apart. I am sorry! Bills and groceries were the only ones that survived.

I will be gone from tomorrow morning until Sunday evening. I am taking along my tablet with the intention of staying in touch. (Maybe this time I really will LOL) If not, I will get back to you on Sunday evening for sure.

While I am gone:

I promise to get 9 glasses of water a day.

I promise to find one physical activity every day.

I promise to make healthy choices even if I cannot track exact numbers.

Have a GREAT day Stacey!

I better get at least a little sleep! ..... Riiiiiight. LOL

Hi Stacey!

So, after a day at the beach, I am sure that work was quite a drag even if you had a very good night. How did it go? Were you in the locked ward again? Able to find time to eat healthy and without having to shovel it in? That is one thing I have always hated about lunch at work. We had so little time, it always felt like I was just cramming the food down. I know that is bad for you and I HATED the feeling! Hopefully you don't have many shifts like that!

The main errands I was expecting to be gone doing today were for my son. He ended up not needing them so I stayed home all day. The effect on promises was very good. I actually substituted one promise. When I was ready to work in the office, dad had decided to do the same thing with his filing cabinet and shelves. He said mine were starting to look so much better it made his look even worse. LOL So, the office is not the easiest place to have two people doing that kind of work, so I didn't mention my promise. I just moved on. I substituted and filled that hour with another run through of Sweatin' To The Oldies. It was AWESOME. Having already ridden my bike for 5 miles, then an hour of stepping to aerobics, I have to say that when weather cut our walk short at just over 2 miles, I was not too disappointed. It was definitely "Workout Wednesday"

Tomorrow:
Nutrition - I promise to track ALL, stay in range an drink 9 glasses of water.

Fitness - I promise to get 5 miles tracked on the 500 mile challenge.

House - I promise to try yet again to get that office hour worked in and to do my reading.

Tomorrow is also payday which may mean a grocery run. I am out of everything! The promises should not be affected. (I hope)

Just thought I would stop in and say hi, haven't talked to you in a while. I've been thinking about you and wondering how your back is and how things are going for you. Been pretty good here, back from camping and must get to work on a few meetings that I have coming up. One is the soccer board, that one won't be much work. The other 2 are for my job and will entail a lot of work. I'm not looking forward to it.
How are your boys? I bet they are loving the summer, mine sure are.

Better get moving, have a wonderful afternoon friend.

+Good Evening, emoticon

Your plans for today sound absolutely WONDERFUL!! What I wouldn't give to be able to just go to the beach! It sounds so convenient and so available (which I am SURE is because it IS!LOL) Anytime I were to decide to go to the beach there would be so much planning and packing and travel involved that it would become cost prohibitive in a HURRY. You are very blessed indeed.

Sounds like the locked ward is becoming more "comfortable" for you. I am SURE that is NOT the correct word, but I am not coming up with a better idea so I used it. Anyhow, it sounds like you dread it less than before. Perhaps you will eventually find it to be YOUR niche. That would be nice, huh?

SO, you are a "reader" too? I was happy to have reminded you. I only hope that you actually got to do it and did indeed end up enjoying it. How was the day?

Today we ended up running more errands than I had pre-planned so promises took a hit. Sorry! Again, the hour in the office was not 60 minutes. This time, MAYBE 30, I am just not sure.I also only got 3.47 miles. THe upside of that is that I wogged a very tiny portion of it and it felt MUCH better than I expected it to. Even my knee, (which usually complains a LOT by the end of a WALK) did not complain as early as usual or nearly as loudly. I don't know, you all may make a jogger out of me yet! Stranger things have happened I suppose.

Tomorrow I may be out on errands again. Since I am not sure, I am going to promise optimistically in case I am here. I do that with the caveat that if I am gone the promises could take another hit.

I promise to track everything and keep it all in range.
I promise to drink 9 glasses of water.
I promise to get 8.5 mile to make up for today.
I promise to work AN HOUR! in the office
I promise to read 20 minutes.
I promise to get 20 minutes of ST.

Oh, and since you are reading this in the morning.............

Guess what day it is?!?!?!?!?!?

Make it a GOOD one!!!
emoticon emoticon BECAUSE WE ARE emoticon LIKE THAT!!! emoticon emoticon
