Focusing on being Healthy and Happy!

This is the year that I'm focusing on me and being positive, healthy, and happy. I've been off and on this year with the dieting and exercising and really just want to be healthy instead of focusing on being "skinny" again. My husband is joining on this journey and it's nice that we keep each other in check. We've just joined a gym so that's keeping me on track with exercising, it's just getting the food part under control.

I've been in Colorado for a year now and want to explore every part of it. I'm looking forward to lots of hiking and camping this year.

Ha you are certainly not a wimp for trying not to go up to Estes Park - those canyons are crazy! I forget that not everyone HAS to drive slick, icy roads like I do for work :) However, those roads are well-used and well-maintained in the winter, so chances are if it hasn't snowed in a few days and you've had a little sun, driving up there should be no problem. Still, it's always a personal choice! And plus, if you're in Boulder, you've got plenty of other awesome places to do things of the fitness persuasion, outdoors or otherwise :)

Thank you so much for adding me as a friend and your comment! I've lived in Colorado for 10+ years and haven't taken advantage of all there is to do until recently :) I'd love to give you some tips...it looks from your blog that you might live in Boulder? You are so close to one of my favorite places on Earth! I lived in Estes Park for a few years and Rocky Mtn National Park is beyond beautiful! You could even do some snowshoeing up there right now, but for sure make it up in the summer and fall!

I've had a hard time keeping motivated for the gym- honestly! but I've really focused on my calorie intake. By tracking my calories on the tracker online I know exactly what I'm eating- and I don't eliminate my weaknesses like lays chips or a candy bar- but I make sure I don't go over. I hate going to bed hungry too, so I know that if I eat the extra calories in lays, i have to eat more veggies at night to fill me up. I give and take and it has helped me stay steady. 10 more to go!!!
