I'm a 32 year old mom of 2 and married to an excellent man. My daughter is 14 months and my son is just over 3. My children are healthy and for the most part my husband and I are also. All aspects of my life are good except my weight and boy does that have an impact. I have been heavy my entire life with the exception of some early childhood years and a few years in college. Once I graduated from college I put on pound after pound gradually to be at my, current, all time highest weight. I had two pregnancies and actually lost weight during them but once my children were a few months old put back the weight. I think about food ALL the time and feel like I'm somewhat obsessed. I'm honestly shocked when I get a glimpse in the mirror, it takes my breathe away. I don't feel that big but deep down I know I am (probably why I avoid mirrors and pictures). I hate being this big and miss the days were I wanted to wear something other than stretchy pants and a large T-shirt. I'm not even comfortable in normal cloths. At my current weight I'm starting to notice some knee pain and some other mild health concerns. And my confidence is in the toilet. I honestly don't think I'm meant to be this big.
Where to start....
There were many Mondays were I started by eating practically nothing and go to the gym to do some crazy workout and be miserable. So I decided I would not dive head first into anything. I know tracking my food is important so I joined Spark Nov. 9th and have been tracking my food/fitness/weight. This week I added exercise to my plan. I believe 100% that it is a lifestyle change. It took me a really long time to accept it and believe it. However I can't believe how much easier it is thinking about just tweaking my lifestyle a little bit at a time rather than going cold turkey. I know it's going to take a very long time for me to lose almost 100 pounds but I'm able to do a little bit at a time and I'm proud of it so far. I know I will make mistakes and that's okay. HOWEVER I will not make a mistake and throw the towel in for the day, week, month or year. If I eat something bad it has to be that time...I WILL get right back on track.
I'm looking forward to making a few spark friends that have similar goals and getting healthy for myself and my family.

My Goals:
My goals are to feel good about my body. Everything I do and everywhere I go I feel like everyone is looking at my size. I need to change my lifestyle and make healther choices EVERYDAY. To do this I feel like I need to lose at least 70 lbs. Since this is such a large number my first goal is to lose 30lbs.


My Program:
As of 11/9 I'm brand new to Sparkpeople. I'm starting at stage 1 of 4. I have been thinking about seriously changing my lifestyle for the past few months and choose to just do it. Currently I'm working in 40 minutes of exercise 3 days a week. I need to add strenght training on my non cardio dates.
