Being the best I can be

Hey everyone! I'm 38 and a mom of 2 young kids. Daughter's 7 and son is 2. We live in Tucson, AZ, and I'm a general music teacher in a K-5 public school.

I started Spark in March 2008 and promptly lost the first 15 pounds or so. I stayed around the 181 mark for about a year, and now am shocked and sad to be creeping back up again. (Refusing to change my ticker yet.)

I started Spark in March 2008 and promptly lost the first 15 pounds or so. I stayed around the 181 mark for about a year, and now am shocked and sad to be creeping back up again. (Refusing to change my ticker yet.)

My latest kick has been focusing on fitness. I am almost through the "couch to 5K" program, and have found that I actually ENJOY running on the treadmill. (And that is really saying something--6 months ago I would've laughed you into next week if you suggested I RUN anywhere.)

I'm one of those people who excel at most everything except weight loss and fitness. I've always been at least 20 pounds overweight, and now want to lose 40 or 50.

My Goals:
Lose some weight. Fit into my clothes. I want to feel fit, not winded from trying to get my daughter's kite off the ground! (True story)

My Program:
Basically, counting calories. I do well at work, but raid the fridge at home. I will eat a healthy snack in the afternoon, a decent dinner, and no more mindless TV snacking! And cutting way back on food 'outings,' like drive throughs and convenience store snacking.

Personal Information:
Stacie from Tucson, AZ.
Teach music K-5 four days a week. Used to sing with an acapella group in Chicago. Love to travel, especially Western Europe and have been there 4 times.

Other Information:
Went skydiving for my 30th birthday. Sang the National Anthem several times at Cubs and Sox games. Was class president and homecoming queen in high school!

Just kidding! Thanks for your comment. And awesome on the pushups!!!! Cool!!!!! Definitely keep me posted. Come join the pushup team! It's a good place to post about your workouts and get encouragement (and discover that everyone else thinks they're hard too!)
