Bigshirley's spark page

Hi, my name is Shirley. I have been in Spark People for almost a year, and I am finally creating a spark page.
I have never done anything like this before ( creating this page), so hopefully, it will get better as I go along.
I am 62 years old, currently retired/unemployed. I have lived in Killeen, Texas since March 9, 2009. I am divorced, and have 3 adult children; the youngest of which, I now live with.

My oldest daughter lives in Romeoville! You are a long way from home, aren't you!? I grew up in Michigan and California, with parents in both places. I never dreamed I'd live in TX, but I guess I'd live just about anywhere my sweet husband took me! I have grown to really love TX, but I miss the trees, rivers, lakes and mountains! emoticon emoticon

You are such a dear person to care about my distress, Shirley! I just wanted to POP him one last night. Turns out, he did not know his phone was dead until after he watched a movie after work in his own apartment! emoticon He was really sorry. emoticon I still wanted to POP him one!

So...how many points do you reckon you've lost by not knowing about the recipe points?!! At least I figured it out after only 4 months. You have a years worth!

In reading your page I noticed we have a lot in common. I am also 62 and was born in Chicago (good food roots!). When I left, I was living in Hoffman Estates. I spent 30 years on Southern California. A divorce brought me to live in NC. I am "kind of" retired. I work for American Airlines and to avoid layoffs they have been offering time off without pay. I haven't worked in almost 2 years. I retire in 200 days. I am hoping they will continue to offer the time off till I can actually retire. My favorite passengers are the folks in the Military. Please thank your son for me for his service to our country. The military's safety is always in my prayers. After you thank him for his service you need to go and start collecting all those points you've missed out on for the last year!

Thanks so much for your sweet comment on my blog. Yeah I'm so far into the up-down weight loss game that I guess I've developed thick skin and it takes a lot to bum me out! Today I am making the move to a working scale, so we'll see how true that holds:)
