A young old soul looking to improve my life.

I'm in recovery from a horrible divorce and major changes to my life because of domestic violence. But I'm a good girl, working hard toward a better life. I meditate, ride my bike as often as I can, and simply love it! March 27 of 2010 I got a new bike, and since then I've ridden over 4092 miles. I've also recently found my way to Yoga thanks to the "Yoga Rebel" Tara Stiles. She's amazing.

Well Dec of 2012 came and I'd passed 4070 miles, so now I'm going on. The good news is ...

Well Dec of 2012 came and I'd passed 4070 miles, so now I'm going on. The good news is thanks to the feedback of a friend, and a new doctor, I'm finally losing weight. So my new goal is to get my weight down. Finally! And it's going!

Thank you for the add, and added you, also. And thank you for taking the time to leave a comment on my blog. I actually used to have a LOT of blogs, but I deleted most of them when I cleared out my spark account. I can be a wordy old broad. LOL I am glad to hear that you are overcoming the demons of your past, I think that is our 'duty' (to ourselves) during the course of this life because so many of us are fraught with those demons and so many of them essentially turn us into just the shell of what we are really supposed to be. So much of this life seems so very bad, but I have to believe there is a purpose to all of it, tho I will never be smart enough to know what those purposes may be. Life sometimes seems to be nothing but a tearing down/rebuilding thing. (sigh) But it is what it is, and in the end, I suspect we will discover that even the worst parts of it were a refining gift of some sort. Or that is my hope, anyway. It's sometimes the only thing that keeps me going in it all. LOL Have a spectacular day and I hope you are enjoying your rides!

Just wanted to tell you that while I wasn't active on the site for a while - your post has meant a LOT! I am indeed rehabbing the patella fracture recovery and headed back onto a bike when the weather gets better in the spring. Thank you for the encouragement and Happy New Year!

This horrible event is one of those types of situations when the whole world stops.

There is no way to estimate the lives touched. I'm so sorry to know your childhood memories of home were tainted by the horror of yesterday.

Sadly, every time period has had a disaster. I remember feeling not safe as a child when we had to practice Bomb Drills. The fear of the unspeakable was real when we were taught to crouch against a classroom wall or under a desk. I can only imagine the fear those children felt yesterday.

My heart goes out to the children who we lost and those who survived.

I too am a DV survivor...and I am so proud of you for the progress made so far! I'm especially inspired by you getting a new bike. I lost mine as I had to move kinda quickly but am planning to get another one as soon as I can this fall. I don't have really a place to ride yet so am cycling vicariously on spin bikes which I adore.

Thanks for posting such great quotes and am looking to see what success you have next, whether big or small - you're headed in the right direction!
