Hi! Thought I'd just come see you instead of spinning off a new thread on the message board with my ramblings.
Are you brand new to Spark?
My diet felt impossible at first but really it has just forced me to eat very "clean" -- very, very little processed food, lots of lean meats, fresh veggies and fruit. My grains are pretty limited so far (rice and quinoa) but I plan to branch out a little more into things like amaranth and buckwheat.
I hear you about the sugar! I had no idea until I did this elimination though, so again, it's been hard but it's taught me great things about nutrition, which happens to be my favorite subject.
Fish oil helps pain and inflammation quite a bit. I notice when I go off of it for more than a week or two at a time. I've also heard great things about turmeric (the spice, and you can also get it in supp. form) but haven't tried it yet. Water retention -- now I am curious, so I'll let you know if I find any interesting info!
