I joined Spark People in 2007. I lost access to the internet and initially lost sight of my goal to be healthy. Well, needless to say, things have changed finally. Its been an up and down struggle from 2007 to 2009 just to keep off the weight i had lost or to not gain any weight. In 2009, bad events changed my way of thinking. I took charge of my life and my eating habits. I started writing down everything i had eaten in a personal food journal. This helped more than I ever thought that it would!! When I joined this site in '07, I weighed 193lbs. For the next two years, I fluctuated up and down on the scale. I would do good for a little while and give up..gain the weight back plus some..then try it again only to have the same results. I realized in June of '09, after a series of unfortunate events, I was irritated with myself for being so insecure and scared to try again. I didnt wanna go through the same ol' yo yo effect, but i had to make a change!!!! I weighed myself in at 197. Its a scary feeling watching yourself be at the biggest weight of your life. So, after a lot of hard work, determination, and complete lifestyle change, I am proud to say i have lost 54lbs. I am still stuggling day by day and I still have atleast 24lbs more to go....but with all the motivation and determination i have..I refuse to give up!!! Thanks so much Sparkpeople!! You have initially changed my life for the better and I will continue to use this site as an ongoing lifestyle tool to keep me on track when I finally do loose down to my goal weight of 130 lbs.

My Goals:
My goals now are to stay on track with the regimin that I have established for myself as well as strive to do better. I need to loose around 24 more lbs to reach my ultimate goal. I am taking the slow and steady path with all my tried and true methods as well as using SP to help motivate me even more.


My Program:
I have started to count my calories and portion control things. I did this once before and lost a lot of weight, yet i didnt stick with it. I also workout at my local YMCA. I love music and have found my mp3 player to be great for sweat sessions. Also, I own 3 different ab machines now along with a Gazelle. I try to workout at home when I am too pressed for time to go to the Y. Not only this, but I will not let myself sit down all day. I make myself get up and get moving whether it be cleaning house, doing laundry, taking a short walk, or dancing to music videos.

Other Information:
I love animals. My favorite movie is The Stand by Stephen King. I am always up for making new friends. I love to have fun, but sometimes fun wreaks havoc on my body...gotta work on that!
