Enjoying Life on the Spectrum

I'm a working single mom of twin boys with Autism about to turn 10yrs old! When they were diagnosed 5yrs ago, I had just lost 35lbs with South Beach and exercising for the first time in, well...forever!

Our lives have started settling down a bit, allowing me to put more focus back on ME! My employer also added the benefit of fee reimbursement at the gym close by so I really had no more excuses. :-)

I began working out 3-4x/wk in Sept '09 and added clean eating ...

Our lives have started settling down a bit, allowing me to put more focus back on ME! My employer also added the benefit of fee reimbursement at the gym close by so I really had no more excuses. :-)

I began working out 3-4x/wk in Sept '09 and added clean eating (natural foods -- good carbs & good fats, no processed foods or chemicals, etc.) in Mar '10. In May '10, I signed up for my first ever gym class. Zumba. I LOVE IT! Never for a moment do I feel like I'm working out. We just move and have fun!

My hopes are for reaching my weight loss goal by Summer '11 and continuing to eat clean the rest of my life to help maintain and stay healthy for the sake of my boys who will always need me.

I do still enjoy a free night each week with my girlfriends so that I don't feel like I'm dieting, but working towards a new me! ;-)

I'm eating REAL food! No fast, processed, chemical-laden food. Meats, veggies, fruits and simple dairy. Enjoy one 'free' meal a week and working out 3-5x/wk at the gym.

You're welcome!! I've found Dr. Oz/RealAge.com are the best for supporting a natural foods lifestyle that's easy to implement for the entire family! Meats, seafood, veggies, fruits, simple dairy and 100% whole grains are the best way to go!

Thanks for your e-mail, recently I realized that processed foods are preventing me from losing weight like I like to be. I'm glad there's someone else out there who does the same thing I do! Good luck on your journey! emoticon
