Feeling great

Hi. I'm Tami.

I am currently working for Sparkpeople helping to launch a book publishing program, and also working on other projects for SP. I am EVP, Publishing and Content, and Sparkpeople's 'east coast office' -- working from home. We've recently finished working on the manuscript for Chris Downie's/SparkPeople's first book, The Spark, which will be published January 1!

Hi.

I am married, have a great husband, two sweet and spirited kids. I love to be active -- especially anything outdoors - hiking, biking, running, walking, swimming, snowshoeing, etc. Also love to travel, read, cook, garden and do volunteer work.

Before working for SparkPeople, I worked in publishing most of my career. Among other things, I published many books in the diet, fitness, health, self improvement, cooking, and environment categories including The South Beach Diet, The Biggest Loser books, An Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore, and many more.

Even after working on so many health books, it's amazing what I'm still learning now that I'm working with SparkPeople, and after becoming an active SparkPeople member. There really is something special going on at here. I feel it in my own life -- I haven't felt this great in years!

Tami

My Goals:
Just got back to my goal weight :-), now my goal is to maintain my current weight, maintain my momentum, and keep improving my fitness level.

My Program:
Run, walk, hike, elliptical.
Strength train at least 2x week.
Try to add new things regularly, and keep it fun.
Workout with my 'fitness buddy'.

Other Information:
Also love to be active with my kids, doing family hikes and lots of outdoor activities. I love it when my son (2 1/2) tells me that he's going to run with me when he is a 'grownup'. My daughter (5 years old) just did her first run with me (very short) the other day. She loved it.

Hi Tami! I'm Lynn, a fellow Pilot team member from PA also!

I live outside of Pittburgh now, but was born on the "other side of the state" as it's called here.

emoticon on your weight loss!

Yes, my son just started kindegarten this past monday, and my daughter started preschool also. David just turned 5 this month and Beth turns 4 in May. How about yours? Similar ages?

I just read more of your page and see you commented on taking your daughter on a run with you. You said "very short", but how short? I take my kids on races in their jogging stroller and David has done two kids races with me (one was a 1 mile that we walk/jogged. The other wound up only being one lap around a track in freezing pouring rain) I'm hesitant to take him running with me until he's about 8, which is how old I was when I really started. How about you? What are your plans?

Hi Tami, it was nice to meet you at the convention. And I'm so glad you came on board to publish the book. I can't wait to see Chris on Oprah!

I see the photo of your son on the beach in California. Was that on the trip to the convention?
