Starting Over

When my son was 9 months old, I was back to my pre-pregnancy weight, but not completely happy with my fitness level. I set a goal to lose 5 pounds and complete a triathlon. I lost 10 pounds and completed 2 triathlons by the summer of 2008. I was in the best shape of my life, and felt fantastic. In the spring of 2009, in my quest to become healthier, I gave up my social smoking habit, completed 3 more triathlons...and gained back the 10 pounds I had lost.

I have been unsuccessful in losing that weight over the past 4 months by just "watching what I eat and working out". Some friends introduced me to SP, and I thought it was time to try something different by tracking my food. So, now I'm starting over, with a goal of losing 10 pounds.

My Goals:
Lose 10 pounds and/or get back to a size 6.

Eat more veggies and learn to incorporate more healthy grains into my diet.

Try new forms of exercise (perhaps yoga and classes at the Y) to keep it interesting.

My Program:
I do some form of cardio 4-5 days a week (biking, running, swimming, elliptical) and core strength training 2X/week.

Welcome to Sparks!!! It's great to meet you and I know you're going to love it here! The information and the tracking tools are just the best! And, the friendships that you’ll make – super great! Everyone is supporting one another and what better way to get to that goal than with those great friendships and support along the way!

I'm a working Mom too, so I'm with ya there! Life can definitely be hectic and the time we are able to concentrate and work on our own health, tends to get pushed behind -- but congrats to you on making the decision that this is your time!
