Since my 40th birthday in June I have:

sprained my ankle
started taking karate
aggravated arthritis in my right knee
broken my pinky toe
continued with Karate
started adding an extra workout or two besides karate
gained a few lbs
learned how to disarm & take down an attacker with a gun
lost an inch from my waist & from my hips
past my first belt test in karate without passing out- Whoo Hoo! (8/16)
bought & started SparkSolutions (today)
and identified a major mental/emotional block that has been holding me back...

So far an amazing and eventful year!


6/6/12 Sigh... headed the total wrong direction- 10 lbs up from my b-day last year... been chomping on junk food & not exercising for the last 3 months... my choices, my results. So, taking a note from the amazing Ms. Beth Donovan (indygirl) I am focusing on losing the next 10 lbs only.

4/10/11 me, kicking up the exercise while I face the music. I've had to revise my goals, since I can't realistically lose 20 lbs by June 6, so going for a nice 1.25 lbs a week, which brings me just under 190 by then. If I continue to take my meds & get my exercise in, I can do it, and be down to 175 by the end of August. 155 is the ultimate, since I haven't seen that since I gained all this weight in the first place :D


2/21/11- So, I ended 2010 down 6 lbs... that # was 18 lbs mid year but things happen. Anyway, I reset my counter for Dec. 31 2010 & so far so good... as of 2/14 I was down 6.6 lbs for THIS year, so 12 & a half overall. I won't make my 10 lb mini goal by my sparkpeople anniversary on 2/24, but I'm focusing on 20 lbs gone for my 38th birthday on June 6, woot!

11/23/10- If someone you know makes you uncomfortable, is too possessive, too needy, too angry... no matter how well you know them, or for how long, do not put your safety in their hands. You may talk yourself into believing it's an overreaction- DON'T. Listen to your gut, do not be alone with them, do not confront them by yourself.

If you're wrong, they walk out of your life thinking you're a bitch. Better alive & a bitch than dead on the side of a road somewhere. On November 20, 2010, a smart, strong woman with good instincts went into a house and she didn't come out. Please don't let this happen to you.

My Goals:
I'd like to see my jawline again. I'd like to be a slim size 14. I'd like to run into people I know & not see their (disguised) look of shock at my weight... I want my cute belly button back!


My Program:
Whole milk & dairy products, avoiding processed foods & added sugars, cooking with virgin pressed coconut oil, and all the vegetables I can eat!
