Jumping the Spiral

Okay, I'm back. I admit it, I'm not good with keeping up this blogging thing. To summarize, I was psyched and ecstatic with my progress in the Spring. 4 months of running and I had completed 3 5Ks and my first 10K and there was no looking back. Then the heinous injury occurred :-) Jumping rope with my kids, no less. I came down hard, my ankle was a little sore for a day and I went running anyway. Halfway in, I could barely take another step and was in tears all the way back. I found out ...
I found out it was a transverse fracture of the fibula.
So, essentially, it's been downhill since then. I ran a little here and there over the summer but it was just too hot to want to be out there and the kids were home most of the summer so the timing just added to the mix.
But now here I am and I am psyched once again. I feel the cooler weather heading this way and I'm back up to 3 miles, although it is a very slow 3 miles. I'm signed up for a 5K next weekend to stay motivated and I feel like if I had all the free time in the world, I would just be out there running and running...ahhh, but life.

Ahh, a fellow knitter! Too bad knitting doesn't burn too many calories, huh? Alas, relaxation is good for the spirit...

Hey! Thanks for checking on me! The race went really well, I got first in my age group. That, in and of itself, is enough, but to be at the high end of the 30-34 age group and beat out the younger girls was even better. :) I hope the running is going well. New goal will be in sight before you know it!

Hey, miss you walking this weekend! I'm trying to do indoor strength training, and stay out of the kitchen! Can't wait to get back and do our "long loop" together again. :-)
