I lost about 30 pounds on my first go-around back in New Zealand, and maintained for three years at around 155 pounds (down from 185). Now I'm 23 and getting back on the wagon. Currently about a week and a half into the rediscovered healthy lifestyle and I'm sitting at about 151 pounds. On my slow but steady way to 130!

Original info:

I'm a 20-year old girl, about 5'8, currently weighing 185 pounds. I want to get to 135 within the next four months or so. The hard part for me, not just in weight loss but in anything, is getting started. Once I can see that something is working and the pounds are actually coming off, I think I'll definitely be motivated to continue... the problem is getting myself to follow a program long enough to see those initial changes.

Goals and rewards:

179 (just to get the ball rolling): two new pairs of earrings
175 (haven't passed this point in years): new makeup and nail polish
164 (normal BMI!): two new bras
155: two new shirts
145: $100 clothing shopping spree
135?: new tattoo!

October 21, 2008:

So far I've lost about 14 pounds in five or six weeks. I'm down to 166.8 as of my last weigh-in this morning. I haven't been giving myself any of the rewards I listed, because I don't feel that I really need them to keep myself motivated (and I'm too poor to be spending money on myself all the time!)- I'm going to post a new set of goals, though, just so I have something to look at.

Below 180: DONE
175: DONE
Below 170: DONE
164 (normal BMI according to method 1)
163 (marginally overweight BMI according to method 2)
Below 160
153 (normal BMI according to method 2)
Below 150 (original goal)
135 (new goal)

My Goals:
I'd like to drop about 35 pounds and become more athletic.


My Program:
I'm trying to eliminate junk food entirely, including soda, and to spread out my meals more throughout the day. I'm also drinking a lot more water and exercising every day, even if it's just a 30-min walk.

I'm originally from the States but currently studying in New Zealand. My parents will be coming to visit me in early March and I want to surprise them with a complete transformation.
