I have been sparking and counting calories for 11 months now and am down 56 pounds. I hope that by my one-year anniversary at the end of February 2018 that I will be able to say I lost 60 pounds in one year.

Although sometimes (okay, often!) I feel that this is going too slowly, averaging 1 pound a week really isn't bad and by just keeping at it I have lost a significant amount of weight. I think it will probably take another year until I get to my goal weight which could be discouraging, but there really isn't any doubt in my mind that I can accomplish this, so I think that's a positive thing! Looking forward to continuing the downward trend in 2018!

February 2017:
I have been a member of SparkPeople since 2007, when I used it to help lose 40 pounds, on top of the 30 pounds I lost prior to joining the site. Then I steadily put all the weight back on.

Now I'm 10 years older and the weight and lack of activity is making me uncomfortable and creaky, and this is not the way I want to be! I have a lot of friends and acquaintances who are in their 50s and in great shape - and I want to be right there beside them feeling good and looking good.

Counting every calorie, every day, trying to stay in the SP range.

Exercising on the NordicTrack ski machine, stationary bike, treadmill & strength training exercises. Also adding in some yoga for fun and flexibility.

I am doing the 5:2 intermittent fasting diet which is eating 500-600 calories for two non-consecutive days a week, and eating 1200-1400 calories the other 5 days.

    Are you interested in a Challenge?

    The Biggest Loser goes for 10 weeks. It consists of 10 teams participating in weekly Fitness and Nutrition challenges. The Spring challenge will be getting started the beginning of March. It consists of fitness and nutrition challenges that are often in a form of a game. If for some reason you cannot do a challenge then they are modified to meet your needs.     Thank you for your comment on my blog and for understanding about having food in-sensitivities. I stopped eating bread for now, to see if it helps and I haven't had sugar either. Hanging in there. Wishing you all the best! emoticon emoticon

    Thanks for your comment on my blog. I, too, find it hard to believe it was warmer in NJ than in NC. lol. I can't imagine that happens very often. It has warmed up a bit today but we are supposed to be hit with a storm, at least on the eastern side of the state. Stay warm and keep on sparking! emoticon
