Operation Health & Fitness (Are you really for a change?)

I found out on 3/28/2014 at 0920hrs that I have diabetes. The new me is now losing weight and eating right and is taking CONTROL of the situation. I will not have diabetes ruin my life. I will win! "My life is not over, it's just changing." This quote was made up by my husband to me, so I would understand that my life is not over. Since then I have said this quote every day and it's even posted on my bathroom mirror. It is so inspiring especially since my husband made the quote just for me. ...

Thank you God for giving our marriage love, support and understanding.

Jedi Captain SpiderBat will be 4 in September; I can only imagine what additional superhero qualities he will acquire at that time!

Sorry that no one answered your questions on the daily sign in on the Managing Diabetes Team. Really no one on that team is ever intentionally rude but in fact are usually very helpful with advice. I used to sign in their every day but just don't have the time to keep up like I should.

To answer your first question, the numbers posted there are usually fasting blood sugar numbers from members' meters but it does not have to be just fasting blood sugar numbers. You can post pre/post lunch, dinner bedtime, snack, any of the numbers you get from your monitor and want to share with the team.

To answer your second question, on the tracker for the blood sugar numbers the box next to glucose values where you enter the number for your bloods sugar number at whatever time you check your BS the box next to it says uncategorized but it is a drop down box with items like prebreakfast, post breakfast, etc so you can know what your glucose value was during the day. I would prefer actual times but this is how they have always done for the 3 years I have been a member. I only check fasting blood sugar usually

Like I said, no one on the team is ever rude, it looks like NorasPat answered your questions in the next post but maybe you did not see it. I don't usually go back and read too far back in the previous posts so maybe that is what happened with other members. I am sorry if you had a bad experience but I think you will find that everyone on the team is very nice and helpful and very interested in other team members problems and progress.

I hope the answers above help.

Congrats on the weight loss... mine has been pretty slow, but not going up, so that's a good thing! I'm just focusing on being healthy.

You should definitely come visit Canada. Are you from El Paso? I see that team on your page. If so, it would be quite far I guess! I haven't been to Europe, but everyone says Quebec, and specifically Quebec City are very European. I'm in Ottawa, Ontario (the capital of Canada). Canada is pretty diverse - like the States, so it would depend where you wanted to go. I've been to Vermont skiing, upstate New York just to shop, and I went to Florida a couple of years ago and went to Orlando (Disney), Tampa, and Daytona.

My Canada Day was probably pretty similar to how you would celebrate 4th of July - I was at my aunt's house on the beach all day with family and we had a BBQ and fireworks. In the city, at Parliament Hill there were bands playing all day (Syrena Ryder and some others) and there were fire works.
