Changing my ways...

I'm 33 & have been struggling with weight issues due to hypothyroidism. I'm only 4'11" so any weight gain/loss is very obvious. Because my condition leaves me feeling so sluggish, sometimes I can barely peel myself out of bed in the morning let alone to fix a healthy meal & visit the gym. Thanks to a great group of supportive co-workers & a loving fiancee, I am getting back on track. I've hit my bottom & I'm ready to take control!

Haha - loved the waffle emoticon (I saw waffles anyways). I think i wanted to make waffles at one point and i don't think we have bisquick here (I had to look up what that was - the pancake pictures on their site look SO good!), but there are a ton of recipes all over the internet for waffles - personally i think a waffle is a waffle and you'll get the same result using the bisquick mix and once you add in other stuff to it, you've made it your own! (all this waffle talk is making me hungry)

Thanks for the great tip on the garlic! It makes a lot of sense that it would lose garlickyness that way, but never really thought about it - will definitely keep that in mind for any future recipes!!

I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking nuts don't belong in certain desserts! if I want something crunchy and nutty, i'll have a granola bar...or a handful of nuts emoticon And i never really noticed the wonky edges to the waffles (having never made them i guess that makes sense), but i just put the batter in the middle and let it get squished outwards. Agreed though - all about character :) Do you make waffles a lot? any really stand-out recipes?
