The Adventure Continues

I've been with Sparkpeople for more than 8 years! I can't believe it! It's a way of life - I'm compelled to log my food intake - lol, but my doctor thinks it's great! I hit my goal weight November 2005, briefly, bounced back up & have been fighting ever since. I know my hormones have left my body, plus alot of financial stress, which hasn't helped. So, now, entering a new phase of my life - going to college for the first time ever and trying to reenter the public workforce, taking care of ...

So, now, entering a new phase of my life - going to college for the first time ever and trying to reenter the public workforce, taking care of my health is as important as it ever was. I want to live long enough to enjoy my retirement ha - and haven't actually started working again yet.

I log my food intake religiously. I walk, jog a little, and do various aerobic dvds, and strength train at least once but trying for twice a week.

Personal Information:
I live in Texas, in my 50's, happily married, & have 3 children 22-23-33; 3 grandchildren 5 yr, 11 yr-17 yr, & 2 silly dogs. My husband is self-employed & I am really stressed out trying to reenter the workforce after being a stay-at-home wife, mother, and business helper all these years.

Other Information:
So far with my college coursework, I've been very encouraged by maintaining a 4.0 GPA! I had no idea I could do that! My old brain still works! :)

Jenn, thanks for stopping by my page. I haven't checked the Caregivers page for a long time. In fact, I just got back on SP after a long absence. My father died Sept. 15, having had a stroke a few weeks earlier while I happened to be there for a visit. It looked for awhile like I would be entering the caregiver role again, but it didn't work out that way. I'm back in Germany but will need to return to FL to settle affairs there in a few weeks. I'm planning on spending the winter, Lord willing. How's with you?

Hi Jenn, I'm very pleased to be your friend. You really have a lot on your plate, going back to school, fostering Vail and trying to keep yourself healthy. Sounds like you're doing great, though.

Hugs, Linda

Remember to have a positive attitude always or as often as you can. Try to maintain the belief that things will work out for the best. The alternative will not do you much good, trust me. If you do what needs to be done, when it needs to be done and you do your best, then that’s enough. What happens after that is out of your hands.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love and hugs,
Helen
