The Sparkle Got Me

Hello out there Sparkland! I am a return sparkler. Haven't been here in a long time and so glad to be able to pick up where I left off. I had very good results in losing weight with Spark People. I previously found it so helpful to get healthier with being able to track my food. Being able to see how much and what nutrients are in foods is a great thing. No other site has given me the insight as this one. I am on a journey again, ready to track my progress and get involved with the community ...

As mentioned before "This page is under construction and so am I!"

My Goals:
Working on continuing a healthy life, lose excess weight and baggage too! :)

My Program:
Tracking daily meals, tracking exercise.

Personal Information:
past info: I live in Michigan, I am 48 years old; this year 24 years with the love of my life who has endowed me with several other loves in my life, and uh...at the moment overweight.
Wow, I am ready this info and it amazes me. I wrote this at 48, I am now 54, have lost my 'love of my life' to cancer, everything has changed in my life. I am working on where I fit in in this world. Amazing, life turns on a dime when you least expect it.

Other Information:
The book Death to Diabetes has helped me tremendously.

Whole foods recipes with the program Christina Cooks. Have gotten some good ideas with it.

Incorporating more whole foods and less processed is a real winner and I continuously try to continue! :)

I just read your comment about the machines. I got the Aviva for free from accucheck, to replace an older meter (like 9 years old). I love it. I also have the active one that I take with me when I leave the house. The aviva is great in that you don't need hardly any blood and the strips are so easy to use. Just wanted to add my two cents.

Ljay, I'm making slow but steady progress. I still have 256 miles. If I don't step it up, it will take over a year to get there. But, remember, I'm only using treadmill miles. See you in a while!

Ljay! I'm on my way to your place. I'm coming from Indiana. Hope to know more about you before I get there.
