Building a better future :)

Over the years I have slowly gained weight. I always just put it off as o big deal. Until one day I stepped on the scale and realized I weighed 180 pouds!! I have never been into fitness and I am such an emotional eater. I have never been a super social person and I have always used eating as a coping mechanism!
Well now is when i say goodbye to my old self and say hello to the new and improved Sarah :) Its not just that I want to be skinnier, but i want to be fit and lead a healthy ...

Well now is when i say goodbye to my old self and say hello to the new and improved Sarah :) Its not just that I want to be skinnier, but i want to be fit and lead a healthy lifestyle! When I have children I want to be able to lead by example! And I to make a difference in peoples lives!
I also have a sneaking suspicion that my honey might be proposing this year :) And i want to look fit and healthy i our engagement photos and our wedding :)

I have set aside some goals when i reach a desired weight.

Hey Sara,
here's to a new week. Got back from a hell week, dealing with my mother in law's passing, and sorting out her things and cleaning out her condo, all on the opposite coast, while my 10 year old had the flu out here on this coast. I didn't have the energy to track my calories, or do any exercise, but I'm not beating myself up- it was what it was. And now it's over, thank goodness.
Anyway, nice to see you making some commitments, good for you!

Sarah, Welcome to your SparkPeople Official 5K Your Way Walk/Jog Program and congratulations on your decision to RUN! My love for running started one day in June 2009 while I was out walking. I grew very bored with walking and decided to break into a jog and immediately loved the feeling. My life has changed in so many ways since that day. I started running at age 50 after never being even remotely close to being an athlete. I am proud to say that I am now a runner! I am a Jeff Galloway runner which means I use the walk/run interval method. I run for two minutes and walk for 30 seconds using a timer called a Gymboss.

It is my hope that I can help all of you in the beginning of your running journey. As I found out, there is so much more than simply lacing up your tennies and heading out the door. If you want to run for years to come, you will need to ease into your running gradually in order to remain injury free. That is where this wonderful program comes into play. It is designed to allow your body to adapt to the rigors of running that it will experience.

More than anything I want you to simply have fun with running. Once you experience that first 5k race you will be hooked! You will come home after finishing and look for another 5k to sign up for. Trust me.

Good morning! Nice job walking the 3 miles the other day- I am hoping to do that today- it's going to be warm (for northern Vermont) so I can get out and walk. How are you doing giving up soda? I am addicted to diet soda, but am trying to limit it to one can a day. I love seltzer, so I just have to make the switch. Now I'm trying to just snack less, my daily report always show that snacking makes up a majority of my food.
