Every Day Counts

I lost my large intestine in November of 2006, and have been fighting my way back to health ever since. The changes in the way I absorb nutrients have taken a toll on me. I'm learning new ways every day to get more out of my food and my body. My goal is simply to be healthier and have more energy. Almost losing my life has made me appreciate the people and places around me, and I want to be able to enjoy life to its fullest.

My goals are simple:
Be able to fit into an airplane seat WITHOUT a seatbelt extender, have the energy to travel and go on adventures on a whim, and to never say to my husband and best friend, "I''m just too tired".

My Program:
I am being very conscious of what I eat-especially those evil refined carbs. I eat lots of fruits and vegetables, and I always, always, ALWAYS have breakfast-usually a smoothie.

Hi! Congratulations on achieving your fitness goals and on your marriage! Maine sounds like it was beautiful.

What you said about getting winded reminded me that not too long ago I couldn't go up a flight of stairs without being breathless. Isn't moving fun? and dare I say, addictive? It's such a joy to know I can walk across campus if I need to (which I often do)!

Hi, I liked a comment you made in one of your posts about house work burning calories!! We are about to move overseas, and have sold our house. I have drooped extra weight this week by shampooing carpets, srubbing out closets, and cleaning windows (don't want the new owners of our house to talk about me when we are overseas!!!) Yep, I higgly recommend housework as a way to drop weight! Hey, I love your wedding pictures! I love weddings, and would have liked to have come to yours!! Danni

Congratulations on your weight loss and your personal goal on the elliptical. I remember the first time I was able to get thru an entire Tae Bo tape...I called everyone I knew! I try to set small goals and be proud of myself when I reach them. Be proud of yourself...you've earned it!
