***UPDATE 3/17/13: I'm back! I've been away for quite a while, but I now have a new resolve to lose 20 pounds for good and not keep getting sooooooo close to my goal, subconsciously get scared, and then gain the 20 pounds back. I'm so done with dieting! It's exhausting to always be DIEting, so I'm getting to my goal and staying there. I'm doing the 23-day hCG program which is not proven I know, but my expectations are that after the three week maintenance this diet will live up to what it ...
I'm doing the 23-day hCG program which is not proven I know, but my expectations are that after the three week maintenance this diet will live up to what it claims. According to "Dr. Simeon" (assuming he's a real doctor that actually existed and spent years researching this diet), after the three week maintenance my hypothalmus will be reset and I will not have to diet anymore. Hopefully my brain is reset too and I'm no longer obsessed with food. In any case, I'll let you know if this diet makes a believer out of a pessimistic person. See you all around!***

***UPDATE 5/19/11: I didn't realize it was so long since my last update. After my last update I suffered another early miscarriage the very next month, but two months after that the pregnancy finally took and I had a healthy baby girl. She was born on 8/17/10 and 9 months postpartum I am still 5 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight and 18 pounds away from my lowest weight. I'm now trying to lose the weight actively.***

***UPDATE 9/16/09: Okay, so it's been a few months since my miscarriage and we are back on the TTC wagon in full force! I purchased the Clear Blue Easy fertility monitor and hope that it helps us conceive soon. This time I hope to complete the pregnancy and give our little boy a baby brother or sister and hubby and I another child to love. I pledge now to be back at my pre-pregnancy weight in the same amount of time or less as my first pregnancy.***

***UPDATE 6/8/09: I had a miscarriage, but doctor said everything looks fine and we can try again after my next period. We will try to conceive again beginning in August.***

***UPDATE 5/28/09: Well I'm pregnant, so I guess I was granted that 5 pound leeway after all. My husband is almost more excited about this than I am, but most likely because he feels like such a stud that he got me pregnant the first month of trying.***

***UPDATE 4/29/09: Hubby is finally on board with having a second child, but I made a committment to get to 130 pounds before conceiving another child. Last time I made a committment to lose weight I didn't get pregnant until I actually reached that goal and that took two years! Hopefully this time around it won't take as long to get pregnant, but if my out loud committments must be reached before the man upstairs will bless us with another child, then I better get workin'! As of this morning I was 135.4 which is really only about 5 pounds away from my goal, but aren't the last five pounds the hardest? Maybe I'll get lucky and He will allow me a five pound leeway. :)***

I am a happily married 34 year-old female with a wonderful 5 year-old son and infant daughter. I work for an awesome San Diego, CA based company and my life couldn't get much better...except to lose those final 25 pounds.

I used to be 215 pounds, but in 2000 I lost 30 pounds for my wedding and four years later I gained 15 pounds back. In March of 2004 I had finally had enough, so I went out and bought a book by Bob Greene titled "Get With The Program" and Dr. Phil's book titled "The Ultimate Weight Loss Solution". Dr. Phil's book gave me the "aha!" moment I had been long awaiting for and I lost 35 pounds in three months. My weight was then stagnant for three months, so just after New Year's in 2005 I joined Weight Watchers and lost another 25 pounds in three months. I hit my first weight goal of 140 pounds the week before I found out I was finally pregnant with my first child (took almost two years). I had an uneventful pregnancy, except for the fact that I gained 37 pounds during the pregnancy, and after our son was born I had to lose 25 pounds all over again. It took me six months to lose the pregnancy weight and get back down to 140 pounds (technically still 10 pounds overweight for my height/frame). I stayed at 140 pounds until I moved to San Diego and I have since gained 10 pounds. I am now on my final quest to lose those last 25 pounds, so I have joined SparkPeople (great Website!).

Yes you are right I don't agree with your short-term decisions about dieting, but I do wish you long-term success... it's what we are all here to pursue :-)

Hi Stacey, I don't think you need to worry about the 1.1lb . In Dr.Semions manuscript he doesn't say gradually increase calories but a hcg diet coach I'm following did, that's where I heard it. You are at a great place so all you need to do is maintain. Congrats again. P.s. Forgott ....forgot to read "DOCTOR" Semions manuscript...Then she would know when you are on Rx hcg your not living on just 500 calories!!!! And Dr. Oz promotes it now also.... emoticon
