Hi, I've been overweight for a long, long time. I see very obese people in wheelchairs and wonder 'what came first, the obesity or a disability' I fear that if I don't lose weight now, I'll be in a wheelchair within a few years. I absolutely don't want that, so I'm dieting and exercising daily to do all I can to avoid it.

My word for 2015 is Courage . As part of a 'follow the star' Epiphany service at my church we were invited to pick a star with a word on it out of a basket--no peeking and no exchanging. The challenge was to post the star where it will be seen daily and to think about and pray about that word and what it means to us. I'm a little fearful of why I might need 'courage' this year but try to think positively about it. Last year my word was excitement. I liked looking for excitement in my life!

My Goals:
My goal is to make healthy living my normal behavior.
1.. walk, walk, walk
2. strength training
3 eat right with lots of vegetables, fruit, fish, chicken and yogurt


My Program:
Spring 5% Challenge
1. I will track all my food and eat within Spark guidelines for the amount of exercise I track each day.
2. I will exercise everyday even if I have a long day at work. Minimum 20 minutes. ( My fibromyalgia is much better when I walk! Sometimes I need to remind myself of that!)
3 I will post my exercise minutes and LTGL points every day and will do at least one additional post. I will visit team members pages to offer support and encouragement.


Personal Information:
I am Mom to two adult children and Grammy to three boys and one girl.

I am a church musician. I play piano and keyboard.

Other Information:
Hobbies include knitting, spinning, weaving and pottery.

Thanks for the goodie. It's going to take a while to build up to 10,000 steps I think as I am so unfit at the moment, and I am so busy it is hard to fit that many in. I got in 7,000 yesterday and just over 6,000 so far today. I'll get there in the end though. emoticon
