Spagate's Health Challenge

Two years ago, I lost fifty pounds. I have since gained it back. With those fifty pounds gone, I wasn't even at my goal weight. So, here I am, trying again. I hope that this time my success is forever - not just a lot of work for a short period of success!

My profile picture was taken by a friend - after I'd lost about 40 lbs...

My Goals:
For now, I want to lose weight, eat healthier, get more exercise. I want to feel comfortable working out for 1-2 hours at the gym, then take on some external challenges. Yoga, maybe running, maybe boxing, charity walks, etc. Things to change it up and keep it interesting so I don't stop again!

My Program:
I am tracking my food again, which I have done in the past with great success. I am going to the gym every day (two days in a row at this point ha!), and trying to get more quality sleep.

Personal Information:
I grew up in Vermont, lived in NC for a while, and have settled in southern MA for now.

Other Information:
My biggest problems are "time" - which I know everyone has, but I am lawyer, run my own business, am in court most days, and teach four nights a week... so it is hard. And once I've reached a certain level of success, I tend to "let myself go" - I need a long term plan once I've lost the weight.

To figure out how much fat is cooked out of meat: put all of the liquid (and you can do this for any fat!) in a measuring cup (or any cup if you want to go by weight), put in the fridge, let the fat come to the top, Then you can estimate the amount if you use a glass measure or you can weigh the cup, then skim off the fat into the garbage (or container if you want to reuse it) and re-weigh the cup. The difference is your fat amount.
