Hi, I'm 37 years old, a Navy Veteran, a Mommy and a Registered Nurse. My husband is a retired Navy Sailor and his family is from Greece. Its been fun for me, a Midwest girl, to integrate into a very ethnic family (oh, and Greek food is so good!)

I have 2 children: our daughter, Mina Sophia, is 6 years old and our son, Franzeskos Michael "Mikey", is 3 years old. They are such blessings, but now I have get back into shape!

I can't believe how much of my life was wasted on living an unhealthy lifestyle. The only explanation I have for it is just plain laziness. But, I'm no longer dwelling on the past--my focus is my future. My goal is to make exercise a top priority in my life and ensure that only good healthy stuff goes into my mouth now. This is a daily struggle and I hope Sparkpeople can help me with these goals.

Please feel free to add me as a friend!

Hi Stacy. I took a belly dancing class when I first started out - I think that is probably the best way in the beginning. That way you get all of the basic moves down. The DVD that I have is from a set of four called Dancercise, and it also includes Salsa, Jazz, and Hip Hop.

Hi Stacy - thanks for your comments on my Spark page - looking forward to being on the Warriors team with you and to the BLC challenge. Very awesome about your best friend finishing fire training - it's a very rewarding experience. Very cool that you were in the Navy and that your ship had the WTC flag. In 2011 for the 10 year anniversary I had the opportunity at the Baltimore fire expo to hear FDNY Deputy Chief Jay Jonas speak about his 9/11 experience and being trapped for several hours in a stairwell of one of the Twin Towers following the collapse.

Thank you so much Stacy, for adding me back and for your sweet comment on my page. I'm trying to drink lots of liquids and lots of rest. Hopefully I'll be able to nip this in the bud! I hope that you can keep healthy. Since our new challenge starts on the 25th, I better be in somewhat tip-top-shape to try my best to get some of this weight off! I'm so glad that we're on the same team! emoticon emoticon

Hello there fellow Amazon Warrior! You have beautiful children! I agree - I need to adopt a healthy lifestyle so that I am a good example for my son. I think that we can do wonderful things during this challenge! Best of luck! emoticon
