2015 was a bad year in many ways. While I did not end up weighing more than I started, I didn't lose more than a couple of pounds, and many challenges came our way throughout the year. Our son and his wife split up, starting what is the nastiest divorce case I have ever heard of, which has resulted in lots of legal troubles for him and him not being able to see his son more than a few hours a week if at all. As if worrying about him and our grandkids is not enough, my husband was diagnosed with bile duct cancer in February. He had surgery to remove the tumor and several parts of his digestive system in March. He had radiation with oral chemo, then chemo infusions and more oral chemo in an effort to keep it from coming back. So far there is no sign of recurrence, but he still has ongoing digestive issues and will be meeting with a surgeon in a few days to discuss a second surgery. We are hoping that will make him feel better and start to get some strength back. He is currently on social security disability and retired from his job early due to his illness. In the meantime I am still working full time (there are still bills to be paid) as well as taking on some of the household chores that he used to do but physically can't manage these days. 2015 was pretty rough but we are optimistic that things will get better in 2016. I am hopeful that I can focus more on my own health and take off some of my excess weight this year.

My Goals:
I would like to be able to climb stairs without being out of breath and to sit down and not see (and feel) a roll of belly fat!

My Program:
I belong to TOPS for the accountability of weekly weigh-ins and face-to-face support, but I like the 24/7 availability of SparkPeople. I am trying to be careful about portions sizes and also to make smarter choices, substituting healhier versions of some of my favorite foods rather than giving them up completely. Watching what and how much I eat along with exercising regularly should get me closer to my goal weight.

    I am currently still backliding not a lot less than a pound a week now for three weeks but seeing as am so close to my first set goal it is a concern at one time was one pound from goal and regained it all plus
    Hoping you are taking steps to get out of the rut and begin losing the 50 pounds that you still want to lose

    Thank you for stopping by my blog. Between tracking my meals on Spark and my Tops meetings I finally met my goal.

    I'm using the Diabetic Meal plan (because I love foods with carbohydrates) and that plan limits them.

    Before I started using that plan I'd have a nice weight loss then gain most of it, if not all of it back.

    It has made it easier for me to lose weight a little at a time and keep it off. Best wishes in your weight loss journey. emoticon Rita
