FIT AFTER 40-No Turning Back!

My name is Margaret and I am fighting for my life back. I have started this final journey on January 17 2013. I am the mother of two and married to a wonderful man who loved me back when I was thin and for some reason still loves me more now that I am fluffier. After kids and thyroid issues, here I am. Battle of the bulge. I weighed my highest 288.4 and am on my way to permanent weight loss and weigh currently 275.5. I am 42 years old and 5'5 and by all terms I am morbidly obese. I need to ...
I need to cross the abyss and quite putting off til tomorrow what I can start today.I am a carb-aholic and veggie challenged and energy starved. Just got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and not very happy about that. I am owner/operator of Workman Home Repairs in Lexington, KY. My biggest hurdles are fitting in exercise between work, the kids and my hubby. Sports activities keep me eating off schedule and at such odd times. It gets very frustrating. I have to work harder at planning which I am not too good at. I also am going through the aging parents phase of my life and my daddy died October 17 2011. It was the worst day of my life and set me back with eating comfort foods and depression. Pray for me!As I will be praying for all of you.
I hope you all find peace and success at the end of your journey.

Details of my Journey:
FIT FOR LIFE-will be my motto....two years to get back into shape. I can do this. Starting over again today but this time will be different. No giving up and no giving in. I am planning to attend a weight watchers meeting once a week to weigh in for accountability purposes. I will eat more veggies and fruties and cut down on my salt and sugar intake.

“The whole idea of motivation is a trap. Forget motivation. Just do it. Exercise, lose weight, test your blood sugar, or whatever. Do it without motivation. And then, guess what? After you start doing the thing, that's when the motivation comes and makes it easy for you to keep on doing it.”
-John C. Maxwell

Get ready for a healthy week, Sparkfriend! You know what you want, and you know what you need to do in order to make it happen...so just do it! Push yourself, even if you don't feel like it...because you really are worth the effort!

"The common conception is that motivation leads to action, but the reverse is true....action precedes motivation. You have to "prime the pump" and get the juice flowing, which motivates you to work on your goals. Getting momentum going is the most difficult part of the job, and often taking the first step is enough to prompt you to make the best of your day."
-Robert McKain

"Making changes in your life is never an easy task. The key, however, is not to get caught up in the distance you have to go to get to where you want to be. Nor should you despair over the amount of control you have over your circumstances. Progress is made in the small, intentional steps, and chances are, you have more power than you think. By focusing on little steps you can take every day, the progress you make will motivate you to continue your journey, and eventually, you can go wherever you want to go. The important thing is simply to begin."
-Stephen Cherniske

Just stopping by to say hello and to encourage you to keep moving towards your goals, Sparkfriend! Even baby steps add up if you take enough of them...and of course, you know you're worth the effort, right? I'm rooting for you!

"The first step to living the life you want is leaving the life you don't want.
Taking the first step forward is always the hardest.
But then each step forward gets easier and easier.
Each step forward gets you closer and closer until eventually, what had once been invisible starts to be visible.
And what had once felt impossible starts to feel possible."

"Today is a new day. It's a day you have never seen before and will never see again.
Stop telling yourself the 'same crap, different day' lie! How many days has that lie stolen from you?
Seize the wonder and uniqueness of today! Recognize that throughout this beautiful day, you have an incredible amount of opportunities to move your life into the direction you want it to go.”
-Steve Maraboli
