Brianna's Lifestyle Change

I started this journey on 3/23/2010, I am dieting and exercising, starting a new and permanent lifestyle change for a fit, healthy and SEXY me! In 2010 I lost and kept off 50lbs and so far I've started out 2011 right, going to keep the momentum going!

1/4/2013-

I haven't updated in soooo long, but in a quick nutshell, I got married on 6/4/2011, had a baby on Sept 10th, 2012, and I'm getting back on track now, I did go up a bit with the pregnancy and holidays, I'm 22lbs ...

1/4/2013-

I haven't updated in soooo long, but in a quick nutshell, I got married on 6/4/2011, had a baby on Sept 10th, 2012, and I'm getting back on track now, I did go up a bit with the pregnancy and holidays, I'm 22lbs above my heaviest and about 15 above when I left off, so I'm not too far off track. Starting my way of life again on 1/7/13!

1 / 14 / 2011 --

Well I've dropped a few lbs and my BMI now says I'm overweight not obese YAY! Ironically right after I wrote that long blog post (and put in that I would like to find the love of my life) I think I did! I don't know 100% but signs are pointing that way, things are so wonderful!

12 / 29 / 2010 ---

I'm about to enter the next phase, 50lbs gone this year!! Next year, I will reach my goal weight, which to be honest is a little fluid at the moment. Right now my BMI is 30.1 (29.9 is the top end of overweight, ALMOST there!). I want my BMI to be in the normal range, it's difficult though because I honestly have a very large bone frame (size 12 mens shoes, huge hands, etc) so I think adding about 10lbs to the "recommended" weight should be good. The top end of healthy for my height is 179, so I think about 185-190 should be good, for NOW I'll go with 190 as my goal weight, if it feels right, great. If not I can go down a little as needed. 2011 here we come!

12 / 1 / 2010 ---

Still on track, but maintaining! I posted a blog entry but things have been rough but I'm glad I'm at least staying on track. I have a new powerhouse in my exercise routine, hoping that will help (DDR!)

10 / 1 / 2010 ---

Update! I posted a blog entry with a little more detail but I have been really busy and I got a little off track, gained 9lbs, but I have been back on track and have lost all of it, so I'm at the same point where I left off, which is ok with me! more details in my blog :)

Down to 219.8, I've lost 47.2lbs :D I've also noticed I'm ahead of my weight loss goals, I'm stoked!

According to my doctors scale I'm 227, down 40 lbs!!!!

Well it's been one month since I started this journey! I'm down 23.2 lbs in 1 month! Of course I don't expect that rate to continue but if I lose on average at least 2lbs a week I'm going to be a happy camper! Can't wait to update with a picture (soon!).

Down 21.6 lbs, woohoo! I strained my knee a little bit running yesterday though, going to just walk today. It's fine today it hurt fairly bad yesterday though :-\\

Down 19.6lbs now! Woo! When I meet my next goal (239) I'm going to take a new picture of myself and post it here. It might not be a big difference from the picture I have now but hopefully there will be some!

So far I have lost 15.6lbs in a little over 2 weeks. I am following a very active fitness plan. Strength training 3-4 times a week with my resistance band, a run/walk program 4+ times a week, and I also use the stair stepper usually 3+ times a week. I am following a low calorie diet, tracking the food that I eat and trying to stay within the recommended parameters for calories, fats, carbohydrates, proteins. I am eating a lot more vegetables and fruit and drinking a lot more water.

One thing that is tripping me up, I have NO idea what my goal weight should be. I'm 5'11" and I have a large frame (I wear size 11-12 shoes in MENS), gigantic hands, long legs, etc. I'm thinking I should be around 190ish, the "small" picture of myself shows me at 215. I guess I'm pretty compact! So I'm going to get down to around 190 and see how I feel. The thing is I will never stop eating healthy so if my weight continues to go down then I guess my optimal weight is less than I thought!

According to some BMI calculators, I think my goal should be approximately 175lbs.. possibly a bit more. I want to find out more about body fat and how it can be accurately measured to make sure I'm in the right range. For now I am setting my ticker and goal at 190. I will re-evaluate as I get down to closer to my goal.

My Program:
Watching my calorie intake, fats, carbohydrates, protein, trying to maintain a balanced diet.

Exercising at least 4-5 times a week. Which includes running/walking at least 5 times a week, dance dance revolution FUN, and free weights.

Other Information:
How do you keep momentum? How do you transition from an unhealthy life into a healthy life? You make the CHOICE, live the life you want to live and NEVER look back (well maybe occasionally just to see how far you've come!)
