Soonergirl in Texas

Hello! My name is Gina and my husband and I have lived in Hurst, TX since July 2007 when we moved to the DFW area from Edmond, Oklahoma for my husband's job. We absolutely love living in Texas!

I'm originally from Hays, Kansas (grew up on a farm 12 miles SW of Hays). I also lived in Nashville for several years in the mid-90's and I miss living in "Music City."

I'm originally from Hays, Kansas (grew up on a farm 12 miles SW of Hays). I also lived in Nashville for several years in the mid-90's and I miss living in "Music City."

I have a 19 year old son who is a college student at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, OK. My hubby has two grown sons. The oldest and his wife have a beautiful 3 1/2 year old son and they live in Los Angeles. The youngest son and his wife live in the Kansas City area. Together my husband and I have "our three sons!"

I am a HUGE college football fan. First love = Oklahoma Sooners (Boomer Sooner); second love = Arkansas Razorbacks (Woo Pig Sooie)!

My Goals:
I have gained approximately 20-25 pounds since my wedding in March 2006.

My mother passed away 14 years ago due to complications from diabetes and congestive heart failure. She was only 59. She had health issues all of her life (heart murmur when she was a teenager) and these issues were compounded by her weight. I am currently 20 pounds overweight and do not want to let my weight creep up any higher. I have seen first hand what diabetes and other weight related issues can do to a human body.

My goal is to lose 20-25 pounds, change my eating habits to a healthier diet, work out 3-5 days per week and feel better!

My Program:
I will start P90X Lean tomorrow (1/3/2011). I will continue to go to the gym (24 Hour Fitness) several times a week for my usual one hour on the treadmill (I average approximately 3 1/2 to 4 miles in an hour).

Other Information:
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on. ~ Robert Frost
