I've been reading your posts and I'm sad for you. The hardest thing I had to do when I started my journey was 'fixing' my mind. I had to tame the appetite in my head before I could make myself well. I loved junk food, but it was killing me. When I cut out the junk, I had no choice but to learn to love healthy food. And it worked!!! Canned veggies at walmart are 68 cents a can (store brand) and yes the store brands taste great.
Please consider all the great advice you received and keep us updated on your success. You can do this. You must do this.
I saw your post about eating well on a very low budget. My teammate, SIMPLEMAW, does a food stamp challenge once or twice a year and eats really well and usually comes in under budget. Here's a link to one of her blogs with even more links included:
Rule number one for frugality: No. Processed. Foods. Shop the weekly specials and the seasonal fruits and veggies and stay away from everything in a box. If you shop the perimeter of the store you'll find the healithiest and most filling foods.
If you're more than a few pounds overweight it is virtually guaranteed that you are very sensitive to carbs - which are both the cheapest and the most expensive foods in the grocery store!
