I don't like the way I look in my clothes. My belly...I can't give words to how I feel about it.

I don't like how I feel when I go for a hike. When I am with others I am always gasping for breath. I want to not be the LAST person on a group hike again. I want to be ...

I don't like how I feel when I go for a hike. When I am with others I am always gasping for breath. I want to not be the LAST person on a group hike again. I want to be ABLE to climb mountains without feeling like I'm dying. To be able to relax enough to take pictures as I go. To be able to treasure the hike, rather than see it as a tremendous obstacle to overcome.

Hi and welcome to Hood to Coast 2011! I see you are a fellow Portlander, so you know all about HTC. Today is the big day, the MAILING IN OF THE APPLICATIONS. Now we get to sit and wait until mid-November to hear if we're in or not.

Anyway, welcome. Join in on a chat. We're a pretty fun and friendly group from all over OR, WA, CA, FL, PA, IN, Canada, Scotland, and on and on!

Thank you for the support! It is kind of tough, but mostly I worry that I'll forget my goals while I'm going through the recovery. Keeping on track with the smaller stuff is good advice and will keep me mindful. I hope your surgery goes well! emoticon
