I've been on SparkPeople since late October 2007. I immediately lost several pounds and have plateaued for now, thanks to the holidays. SparkPeople helped me maintain over the holidays instead of gaining!

I am a small-framed woman, carrying about 50 pounds extra weight. I was never a skinny child, but other than some pudginess around 12-14 years, I didn't have a weight problem until my sophomore year of college. As a high school student, I was 5'0" and 105 pounds. By the time I got married when I was 21, I was 165. When I got pregnant 2.5 years later, I was around 190. I didn't gain any weight while pregnant (I figure I was eating healthier, so I lost *my* weight and gained baby weight) and was down to 165 within 6 weeks after my daughter was born. I was 175 when I got pregnant with my son a year later and came right back down to that after he was born. In 2000, at 180 pounds, I started Weight Watchers and lost down to 140-145. Gained some back, went back on Weight Watchers in early 2002 and lost down to 135. That's my lowest adult weight. Between 2002 and 2007, I slowly gained it all back. When I started SparkPeople I was 182. I'm determined to reach a healthy weight, more for health and wellness reasons than vanity, although that's a big motivator, too! Also, with my daughter reaching adolescence, I really want her to learn healthy eating habits that will stick so that she can be healthy, too.
