Peristence is key

Joined this site a while ago but did not stick to it. So now back again working towards becoming healthier. Goals are to tone and gain muscle. At age 45 it is important to try and build muscle because as we age we lose it and it is much easier to gain weight.

I finished Insanity July 2013 and injured my knee. MRI indicates it was a bruised bone. I just go the results back about 2 weeks ago so trying to stay off the knee and let it heal. As soon as I can I want to start running again.

My Goals:
Read Dr. Joel Furman's book awhile back and stuck to his plan and lost 10 pounds. It was very simple and very healthy. Going to start that plan again tomorrow which helps me toward going fully vegan.

Lose at least 20 pounds

Become healthier mentally, spiritually, and physically

Make better food choices

Become a role model for my children

Finish my degree

Become a fitness/food coach

Completed goals:

Finished insanity 07/2013

Lost 14 pounds

Lost a pant size

My Program:
Commit to becoming vegan

Eliminate processed foods

Drink black or green tea daily-at least 5- cups

Walking/cardio at least 6 days a week

Interval weight training

Limit calorie intake to 1200-1300....focus on more fruits and vegetables...less packaged foods.

Personal Information:
I have lived in Florida for about 6 years. I am a single mother of three children, two are still at home-teenagers!

I am originally from PA, but have relocated to Tampa, FL for a job.... big transition but I love the weather and especially the beach.....

Other Information:
I am a Christian...without God I have nothing so I have to give all my praise to HIM for everything that I have.

I am working towards a Masters in Addiction Counseling through Capella. Hoping to one day help those who suffer with addictions.
