    Since I live in a suburb of Chicago, I can find pretty much anything I need, and I have choices. When I was in my late 20's, I was able to talk to mental health social workers. The cost was based on a sliding scale, and I paid $7 a session. The social worker were employed by either the state or the county, and the office was a 10 minute drive from home. Of course, the trade off is killer property taxes. Mine are gross.

    I applaud you for taking 2 years to gain 20 pounds. Just recently, I managed to do that in less than 6 months. If I wasn't spending hours and hours in the gym, it frightens me to think how much I would weigh right now. I've been back in control for a total of 4 1/2 days. Being "this" close to 200 pounds scared me to death. Even so, on Monday, I wanted to give up and give into a life of junk food. Thankfully, those thoughts fled pretty quickly. I'm getting too old to be this fat.

    If you can't do everything, try to do a little of something. Get a streak going on something as simple as wall push ups. It helps and keeps you moving in the right direction. Being committed to the gym has been, literally, a life saver. Don't wait until you're almost 67 to make permanent changes in your life. If you did it before, you can do it again.

    I really like your comment, "I have to look for what works now." I believe we are always learning or going backwards - so this fits for me. I am now where maintenance is about health and not a number on the scale.
